It's basically a pre-colored book. You just wet the surface, and the color shows up! It's really fun for little kids; my niece absolutely loves it. The pages dry in just a few minutes, so while she's "coloring" other pages, the first one dries and goes back to white. She loves being able to color the pages over and over but sometimes gets frustrated because the color disappears.About the scents, some are very subtle, and some smell nice.All in all, it's a decent no-mess, reusable coloring book.

These are cute and definitely mess free (maybe a little water here and there) but the ones I bought did not smell like much of anything except maybe wet cardboard. Kind of disappointing since that was supposed to be a feature with these books.

Any time we're in the car for a while, we pull out one of these for the kids. The kids love them, and they're reusable (to a point). They also like that this one has scents.

My 2 year old granddaughter is generally frustrated that her older sisters are able to do a lot more crafts and art projects than her. She is loving this water art board. The board pages are thick cardboard and when the child scribbles on the page with the water pen it reveals the background picture. Each page is supposed to have a fruit scent but the scent is pretty mild and you need to really work at it to smell it. So far the pen is holding up and it doesn't leak.This isn't a messy craft so it could be used while traveling.I like that there is a place to store the pen when not in useIt also has a search and find feature for objects that get revealedThe scenes are cute, with a nice variety of places inc. a picnic, jungle, market, farmers field. etcIt's a great little creative, coloring book that is compact, travels well, is not messy but is good entertainment for a very young child.

This coloring book is a great activity for my 4 year old that keeps him busy for a short while.My toddler tends to press down super hard whenever coloring so most crayons, pencils, markers, paint sticks etc tend not to last long. With that said, the paper/cardboard that you color didn't rip (he's often done this with other coloring books and activity books made with paper) and the felt tip on the marker still has its shape. These are all pluses for me in the hopes that this book will last for a short while. The felt tip distributes the water evenly and prevents splotching as well. The scents are a pretty cool feature but it isn't overpowering.

I ordered the Melissa & Doug Water Wow Reusable Water-Reveal Coloring Activity Pad. I'm a huge fan of the Melissa & Doug brand because I know their products are well-made and comprised of materials that are safe for kids (i.e., non-toxic). I was delighted to see this travel-friendly coloring pad - I love to have fun, interactive activities on-hand, whether it's for air travel or a rainy day. This is a great reusable coloring book and the marker scent is pleasant and pretty mild.I also love that it's generic illustrations and not cross-branded with a well-known cartoon character (it can actually be surprisingly challenging to just find generic coloring books nowadays). This is a great little set you can easily store at home or keep in a bag on-the-go. I love any activities that get kids playing without screens nearby. Highly recommend!!!

This is our first water color coloring book and it’s so great! Even at ages younger than 3 it is a great engagement activity for littles. Just be sure to supervise as the book and coloring pen can easily end up in their mouth. I love that this is no mess. The marker ended up on the floor, but since it’s only water, there was virtually zero clean up. The pages are lightly scented, but I couldn’t smell the scent unless I put my face close, so if you are sensitive to smells this may not be an issue. It’s also nice that the scent pairs with the item on the page. Over all love this activity. Great for home, the car, or travel.

Perfect for a small child on the road. You fill up the "marker" with water and "color" the page. When the water hits the page it turns colors. Once the page is dry, which happens within a few minutes depending on how much water you use to color, it is white again as though nobody colored it in the first place and can be "re-colored". Not sure how many times it can dry and be recolored but I really like this concept and it's no mess. There are five coloring sheets with things to find on each.For the price this is definitely something to add to the car travel bag if you have a smaller child and don't want something messy.
