1st; I wanted to know the dimensions from where the handle is attached to the blade to the leading edge of the blade. I was looking for about 1.5" for the flex, but it turned out to be 1.25+/-. This information was not included in the description.2nd; While the size is good (to minimize stress on my shoulder), the blade has serious gouges from the grinder that leave grooves in the mud.I have a Duwalt trowel that has a very smooth blade and does a great job on skim coating. Unfortunately, the Dewalt is Longer and narrower making it hard on my shoulder to move mud. Also, the distance from where the handle is attached to the blade to the front of the blade is only 1". I wanted that longer distance to give the blade more flex.

Left side convex out right side concave. Handle had a very rugged finish👎 Sticker is a pain too remove. Checked blade to late to return.

This trowel is amazing. We recently had a contractor come to remodel our bathroom, laundry room, and walk in closets. He did a “rough in” and not the remodel as discussed and planned in the beginning. So, we had to finish what the contractor started. There was a lot of “learn as we go” going on!This trowel is amazing! It allows me to cover a large area and lends itself to the smoothest skim coats and topcoats!I would like to toot my own horn here and say that I have found drywall to be a hidden talent of mine. I’ve gotten very good at it in a very short period of time. (It must be from all the cakes I’ve baked in my life and had to smooth out icing on them!)I can’t credit my hidden drywall talent for everything, I have to give credit to quality tools like this trowel for helping me create a professional look. With high end tools, the projects have been going much quicker and have been easier than anticipated. As far as the price, it is very expensive for a trowel. I’ve seen similar one at our local hardware stores, for much cheaper. So I’m not sure if this trowel is accurately price pointed, but it definitely does not disappoint and has been worth it for me.

you can find cheaper ones....but not at this quality level.... I go through a lot of these, some grow legs and walk off job sites, and others get damaged from misuse....this 16" trowel is DEAD FLAT, tested on a granite surface plate, that is sooo impressive at this size...Flatness matters a lot for plaster. The handle is solid wood, and the shape is very ergonomically friendly to my avg. size man hands. Add some oil for better preservation. Dont toss these around, they can loose flatness, treat your fine tools with respect. Considering the high quality build and the dead flat workmanship, USA made, gotta give this 5 stars.....not for one job types, this is a pro tool, there is cheaper options for single use. for the professional, Recommended!

I got this to re-drywall a section of the basement that was removed looking for a water leak. This is the perfect tool for feathering in drywall joint compound. My hands are very large (XL gloves are often quite snug) and this grip lets me perfectly control the angle and pressure of heel and toe of the trowel. The wood grip grabs my hand and uses the sweat as an advantage. Plastic and rubber grips don't do this. The flex of the steel on the edges is also good. Firm, but not too firm. It's able to make a pass without leaving a line where the tip would drag if it was more stiff.SUPER happy with this trowel. If I need a bigger one for concrete someday, I'll only ever get another Marshalltown.I have a Marshalltown margin trowel I use for cleaning gutters and scraping stuff outside and mixing stuff in a bucket. The handle on that is rubberized and it's fine for that use, but this is entirely different. Wood grip makes a world of difference.

I was very impressed with the weight of this trowel and the style however, I wasn't thrilled over the fit and finish of it. The handle is a little big and not overly comfortable and I was surprised how the look of the finish was a bit unfinished. It's probably not a big deal and I'm sure it will live up to it's reputation. For the price point it is in, I guess I expected more from the most well known brand names in trowels.
