I primarily put these on my older metal bats that don't have the newer sting reducing technology. Not only does it make the bat more comfortable to hold it reduces the sting out of old one piece alloys.

I like to hold my bat with just two fingers of each hand. I bat right handed, so my thumb and forefinger on my left hand wrap around this tapered grip. My right hand is similar, with thumb and forefinger wrapped around the handle and my other three fingers on top of my left hand.The result is to make my bat longer, a more powerful swing.Without this tapered grip, the knob would dig into the palm of my left hand. It also helps prevent the bat from slipping out of my hand when I follow through.

I've put one of these on my whole quiver of bats (10+). Makes gripping the bat more comfortable and keeps the knob from tearing into your palm (if you hold the bat down low that is). Not going to lie, getting it on the bat the first time was a bit challenging. You need to moisten it first with water, turn it inside out, slip the wider part over the handle and on to the bat and then peel it back down to the handle. I can do it pretty quickly now. Takes me like 1 minute. Just watch the youtube videos and you'll be fine.

To install, it's helpful to have an extra pair of hands. I got it half way on and my husband helped me stretch it out so that I could get the other half on there. It went on easily. I had trouble with it doing it myself.

These are great. No more bruising in my hand from dropping my finger off the softball bat. Cons? These suck to put on and off softball bats. I realized there is a method of using water which helps somewhat, also adding it to warm water helps expand it a bit but DO NOT PUT THIS IN HOT/BOILING WATER. The glue immediately gave away on this and split it open. Just use warm tap water to try and get this over the knob.

I put these on all of my bats!. It gives me a great grip around the knob of the bat without being too bulky. I drop a finger off the bottom of my bat, and this gives me great control. I used to tape up my bat to get this effect, but then I played with a guy who used these, and I ordered my first set the next day. Sometimes it takes a bit to get them on, but it is well worth the little extra work it takes.

Put this thing on one of my bats to try out the feel of it. Love how it feels when I swing the bat. Hit my first home run in 3 years the first game I tried it. I get quality hits out of my swing again. Now it's on all my other bats.

I really love this taper. The red color matches the unis for my travel team and with a little moisture on the inside of the taper, this will go on easily. Since I use a modified grip with one finger beneath the knob for increased leverage, the taper provides a lever in the palm of your hand. The service was great and the price was below the larger sports outlets typical for most areas now. I highly recommend this taper. It will fit over leather, synthetic or tape grips. At one point, these were not legal in ASA but I believe ASA now accepts them although I rarely play ASA now. The service was excellent! Highly recommended!
