Haven't had the chance to use it yet (no snow), but it seems like it will do the job just fine. Decent quality, decent reach and decent weight.

I didn’t get a chance to use this while there was snow, because I didn’t get the proper hardware. There are two long bolts that attach the head to the pole, and one was too short so I wasn’t able to affix a nut to it. I could either try to find an appropriately sized bolt or contact the seller, but the snow has already melted here. The other issue I had with it was the cotter pins fell out of the axle when I was assembling it. I’m not sure if that was just mine, or if others wil have the same issue. The cotter pin wasn’t spread apart, it was just bent in one direction. Thankfully my dog didn’t ingest it!!

Having glanced at the other reviews of this product I find that my experience reflects that of many of my fellow Vine Reviewers. Like many of them, we had an enormous amount of snow last year and earlier this year before I had received the Maplefield Adjustable Roof Snow Rake. Like many of them, we have not had much snow since the rake arrived. Like many of them, I found the assembly instructions to be somewhat perplexing. Like many of them, I managed to put the thing together despite the instructions. I would rate the assembly instructions as slightly better than Ikea. As another reviewer noted: a diagram for assembly would have been helpful. It would also be helpful if the parts were labeled. No use instructions were included. I needed to view a use video of a competing product to get a sense of the rake in action.Even though we have no snow on the roof right now I did test the Maplefield Adjustable Roof Snow Rake with a dry run on my roof. The first thing that I noticed is that the “rake” part sits over an inch above the shingles. This is probably good since the standoff should help prevent scraping the actual shingles. The rake includes a roll up plastic curtain that helps guide the snow off the roof. A hook and loop strap is included to secure the curtain when not in use. The first time that I rolled up the curtain it was so bulky that the strap couldn’t fit around it. I had to unroll the curtain and tightly roll it up again to barely get the strap to fit. This might be a problem when in actual use because if any snow or ice clings to the curtain it will not be possible to roll it up tight enough to secure it with the included strap. Ultimately, I may need to find a longer strap (or maybe a short bungee) to secure the curtain.I am happy to have a safe and easy to use option to clear snow off my roof. I am going to subtract 1 star from my rating because of the vague assembly instructions, no use instructions and short curtain retention strap.

Had our place in northern Michigan for 12 years and this was the first year we needed a snow rake. This was the rake we needed for our steep and tall roofs. The only set back was the tarp wouldn’t stay down so we taped a weight to the bottom of it and that did the trick. Highly recommend it!

I really thought I wasn't going to use this, this year. We have had a very unseasonable winter. In which it didn't snow once in my area. Until March 25th. Then it snowed over a foot of HEAVY wet snow. We had to get it off the roof since it was so heavy. This worked absolutely wonderful!! I looked all over last year and couldn't find one anywhere. I ordered this as soon as I saw it was available!! I wasn't taking that chance again.

Winter in the area where my farmhouse is located has been incredibly harsh this year; I can't even count how many times it snowed. Luckily, I ordered this just in time. I found it surprisingly easy to use, much easier than I expected. I thought I would have to exert more force and sweat more, but that wasn't the case. I easily cleared the roof, which is about 10-12 feet high. You don't need to be an expert to use it; all you have to do is slide the curtain under the snowdrift on the roof and push it towards the highest point. The snowdrift naturally falls down as you do this, so there's no need for extra effort. I would just advise being careful about where you stand while clearing snow from the roof; you don't want the snow piles to fall on you.
