The magnet on this tool is very strong; it holds screws securely, sometimes too well when trying to use it with one hand. This has been an excellent addition to my toolbox.to my toolbox. I highly recommend this little guy.

Pretty handy for removing small screws - the magnet keeps the screws on the end of the screw driver when removing or trying to get them started.

It works well but actually fell apart the first time I used it. The black part separated from the blue and the tiny magnets inside dropped out. I had to find them, put it back together and super glue it all together again. I've used it a few times since and it works but I always have to check that it's staying together.

Broke the first time I used it - the black plastic collar popped off the housing, flinging the magnets out of the blue housing and flying across my shop. I was using a Makita impact on the softest setting - there's no way this would survive repeat use.I wanted to love it, but after inspecting the broken housing, I noticed the the only thing that holds this together is two small plastic clips - no adhesive or anything else.Skip this one - I'm on the hunt for a better, more reliable model.

fits on a bit and holds a steel screw but the magnet is just at the tip of the item. It does not magnetize the entire driving bit. Hard to get it on a bit (strong spring over a ball) and once on it will not slid up a shaft but lets only the tip of the screw protrude. Enough sticks out that I get a good grip on #2 Phillips or JIS tips or square tips. Not sure about #3. The magnetic ring at the end prevents the magnet assembly from sliding further up the Hex bit shaft so you can't drive the screw deeper than a hairs width deeper than flush with the wood without removing the magnet. Also, the width prevents me from seeing the head of the screw as it becomes flush with the workpiece. Still, it is nice to just on the bit and not have to hold it as start the driving and works fine if I stop when the magnet touches wood. In a way it provides a depth gauge, though you risk damaging the bit / screw slots if you are not careful. Will not work with short bits (5/16" long)
