My sister and I looked up these colored pencils a few years ago. She uses them to sell pet portraits and she uses them to make greeting cards to sell. Excellent quality. The look is that of oil color.

Primrose is great for blending warmer colors, it’s also good for warmer softer highlights and a must have for lighter and on warmer skintones for highlights. It also great in florals!I love the caran D’Ache Luminance colored pencils. Blick through Amazon is a great way to pick up open stock and are often lower in price than strait through blick by almost a dollar. I use the luminance in conjunction with the Pablos, Derwent drawing, and FC Polychromos and they all play well together. Luminance blend out well with odorless mineral spirits or just by pencil blending and or burnishing. Fabulous versatile and High Quality and lightfast artist pencil.

But then again I've just now completed step one of Mark Crilley's Two Pencil Method, which I have devoted this pencil to ( it's the second of the two pencils required ) and that amounts to some pretty minimal use. But I can say this: it hasn't snapped or crumbled at the lead like a Crayola, then again I also use a T'GAAL sharpener on it and those are excellent ( though these particular pencils are fat and get a little scuffed on their shaft fitting into T'GAAL's small opening, still, it works). Now as to the seller, my dear Jackson's Art Supplies: fine prank you blokes played on this anxious yank, sending my six dollar Caran D'Ache pencil in a FABER CASTELL PENCIL BOX! I was scared to death at first that I had been sent the wrong product when I deliberately chose this pencil based on it's reputation, and oh my was I had! Quite humorous though, I must admit, especially after I realized all was well ( and professionally handled!)

Gives the Prismacolor a run for its money. Nice product. I'd buy it again.

Although there is nothing actually wrong with these pencils; having read so much about them I thought they would blend better than my other pencils. However, I found the quality equivalent to my Derwent Coloursoft and Derwent Drawing coloured pencils which are far cheaper.
