You can't cook steak like a restaurant because they use a broiler at 1000F. This black box will go to 1400F with quick heat-up infrared elements over the meat. It does one 16oz steak at a time. They might make a bigger one but it will cost you. I am very happy with mine, medium rare at 3 to 4 mins per side.

Bought this to throw a quick reverse sear on steaks and it gets about half as hot as advertised.Im not even going to waste any meat inside. Another amazon failure

(note the SMOKELESS in the title)So at first, I thought this was going to be a great item. It really isn't. The "grill" is not a real grill per se. Its a hot salamander tray or like a super hot air fryer at best. It doesn't "grill", it just throws a bunch of heat at whatever you put in it and there is no even grilling or anything. PLUS....it DEFINITELY is NOT "smokeless" as it claims. Anything you put in here meat wise is DEFINITELY going to throw smoke. I tried steak, smoke. Wings, smoke. Chicken pieces, smoke. Ham/bacon, smoke. CHICKEN NUGGETS...not as much, but there was smoke from the crumbles burning off. And with ALL the items, nothing was "grilled" evenly or correctly. This is basically good for either a good reheat or a VERY quick crisp up, not a real grill. SUPER disappointed.

Produces very little smoke and can be used indoors with easeCons: The heat generator at the top is smaller than the cooking tray so food cooks unevenly unless it is repositioned often. Pulling the hot tray out frequently to adjust food isn’t convenientOverall I’d rate it 3 stars however, reason for the 1 star is it constantly blows the breakers in my house. I tested several outlets including the one I use to charge my car and the unit consistently trips the circuit after running for about 10-15 minutes which isn’t long enough to finish cooking what I need to

I almost returned this but oddly Amazon wouldn’t allow me to. But in glad I didn’t return it. I now use it everyday to make steak.Some things I wish I had known:- definitely pre cook thicker steaks aka “reverse sear”- pre cook in an oven set to 250 and use a steak thermometer, pull at 110-115-use this over about 3 minutes a side for thicker steaks-you must align the steaks with the burners, they aren’t that big. And as close as possible, usually the second step.Always monitor temp with thermometer and pull about 5 degrees cooler than your desired temp. Let sit until temp is achieved and slice. Slicing stops the cook.

This grill is just what a single person or a couple needs! Someone who only cooks small meals or have small apartments, dorms or take camping to use inside the camper when unable to use the grill outside. It can be used to do everything that you use a full size oven to do only using less energy and taking up less space and your food tastes better! What's not to love about that!? It's easier to clean than a full size oven too! It seems to be made well! Works great! Cost is great too considering everything you can do with it!

After ten days of moderate use (cooked one thing in it each day), one of the two heating elements stopped working.It's a great product — I'm not sure if it really gets to 1450F as that's hard to measure, but it sears very well indeed.Amazon immediately approved a refund/return, and I will buy another unit in the hope that I just got a bad unit this time around.
