I used to grow potatoes on my kitchen counter, to the point they were mushy and stained my wooden bowl. It also seemed to me, they old potatoes made any other vegetable I put in with them. At any rate, they made a mess. Same thing would happen with fruit. As soon as I saw these baskets, I knew the problem was solved.The baskets are well-made, top grade silver wire, and there are three of them. Now I've got a basket for potatoes and onions, one for different kinds of fruits, and one smaller one for a bunch of grapes or a few bananas. Now my produce lasts, without refrigeration, and makes for an attractive vignette on my kitchen counter.The baskets are good and sturdy, and at 76, I'm sure will last at least as long as I do.

Upon unpacking this set of wired fruit bowls, I thought they looked a little smaller than I had originally imagined them to be. But, after washing them up and placing fruits in them, I realized they hold a lot of fruits. The larger bowl easily holds 12 regular sized Washington Red Delicious apples and the smaller one holds about 8 navel oranges. This is perfect for our small gatherings and our small family of 4 adults. The wire design allows ample airflow to dry off any washed fruits, so that part of the straining function works perfectly. These would not be bowls you use to strain pasta or rice grains though, but that clearly was not the original intent of the manufacturer. In summary, this set is an excellent value as it functions well, holds plenty of fruit, and the bowls were pretty flawless right out of the box.

The wire is thinner than I was expecting. A few of the wires were bent upon arrival (which I was able to straighten by hand), and I could see that placing heavy fruit in the basket might bend the wires again. There was also one area where the metal was worn down where there was a slight scratchy edge to it (where it was not smooth, see picture). This was not pokey and did not scratch me.I ordered these fruit baskets to store potatoes, which apparently require an environment with good airflow (not in a bag). I put my potatoes in these fruit baskets and stacked them, and I think this will meet my needs for now. I like the way that these fruit baskets look, and I like that they are made of stainless steel. The welds seem to be adequate, even though the wire is thin. Of course, they aren't meant to be stacked as I have stacked them. Overall, I recommend these wire fruit bowls.

I used to use a very pretty basket to hold some vegetables on my counter, but when an onion spoiled and ruined the basket, I had to throw it away. I've been wanting something other than a basket to hold my fruits and veggies, and these are exactly what I needed. They look great on the counter matching with all the other stainless steel in my kitchen, they have good airflow, unlike a woven basket, and with three in the set, they hold plenty of veggies and fruits. They are easily washable, and being stainless steel, could also be used to wash fruit and veggies, like a colander. These are great, and being both multi-use and stylish make this a big 5 stars from me!

These fruit bowls are made with a very thin wire that bends easily. When they arrived the feet from the top two bowls were stuck in the bowl below and they were hard to separate. The bowls were also bent. I think the wire used is too thin and will damage some softer fruits especially when they are ripe. They are maybe a little better than what you would get at a dollar store.
