These work well. I tried to use cheep ones but they were nothing but problems and hard to keep from leaking.This size is hard to find locally so I ordered them.

Use it with the large plastic bottles by the same brand, that works better than with mason jars.This is great because:- no need to fill the tray of a chicken chicks waterer with marbles to prevent drowning and hypothermia by getting wet.- smaller so less walking on it and less poop in the water.Main issue: it takes a while to get these, so get them when you start incubating or before.

Used for my baby quail and the only issue I had was finding a jar that would still allow airflow for the water to continuously come out. If you have the wrong jar attached it creates more of a seal and you won’t have a refill of water for the chicks.

Well folks, the baby quail took to this waterer quickly and we had no accidental drownings. It’s just for a week or two though and then they quickly moved on to a drop feeder. It’s just a few dollars and it provided peace of mind. Totally worth it.

This product shipped faster then expected and works great!I use it as a waterer for my quail. It works very well for chicken and quail chicks, the sides are small enough that they can not drown.It works very well for adult birds as well. quail like to dig and the small sides keep dirt out of their water!Very good product, I highly recommend it. This was also a very nice company with low prices. I will definitely use them again!P.S.- Remember this is just the BOTTOM. You have to get the top to fill with water and screw onto the bottom...
