This is a great kayak for the cost. My kids love this! The only downside is it does not come with a paddle.

We really like this Lifetime Dash 66 youth kayak and it is super light and easy to move and put on the car roof. If you want scupper plugs for the drain holes don't order the standard ones as I tried about 5 different brands off amazon and they were all too big despite being "similar in measurements". For this lifetime youth kayak you need silicone rubber stoppers size #5 which fit perfectly without sticking out either top or bottom. Screw a threaded eye bolt into the top of the rubber stopper to allow removal and use a string to the tie down loops so they don't get lost or sink. The kayak travels easy in a straight line and also turns easily when you want to. Kids liked sitting with legs out, sitting with legs crossed, and also kneeling with feet under them. The person weight capacity is accurate and you can go a little over that number if you can deal with reduced stability. Note that these are designed for flat water and become very unstable in ocean/bay type waves with white caps.

We bought this for our granddaughter and knew she wouldn't be long before she would grow out of it. I think it will be ok for the little time she will use it, but I was disappointed in the seat back. I'm not sure it will provide any support for her. I guess this is one of those times we wanted a cheap gift for a starter and that's what we got.

My youngest son is feral. That's important to know because if this can survive him then it can survive almost anything. The most recent scenario was finding that he had powered it with the leaf blower and was going all around our pond with it. A few days prior he used it to house an alligator snapping turtle. He has yet to go to the river with it, but so far it has served him well. And yes, he's the reason I have grey hairs.

This kayak is a great starting kayak for kids. It is very stable, and my 8 yo, 55# nephew took to it like a duck to water.The only thing that was other than I anticipated was, that I thought the seat back was a hard plastic. It is a piece of foam instead. he decided he didn't need the back, and was using it as a seat instead.

Works well for my 10 year old. The foot rests are a little to far out for his comfort and he isn't short. His legs are straight even on the closest foot rest. I am going to try a pool noodle under his knees or feet to alleviate the strain.The backrest isn't great. He is already asking for a new seatThe maneuverability is great. We took it out on a choppy lake and he was able to maneuver with ease.My 13 year old 125lb son tried it out for fun since the weight limit is 150 and that didn't go well. He is definitely to big for the vessel.

Surprised our 10 yr old grandson w this for Christmas. He had kayaked before, so put it in the pool and had a blast. Easy for him to get on it, easy to maneuver. Great purchase.
