Product Description

LEZYNE Control Drive c02 Photo

With a minimalist CNC’ed aluminium head, the Control Drive feels high quality. Despite its small size, attention to detail is high too. A rubber seal engages with the cartridge threads as soon as you begin loading the inflator, which means little gas is lost before the valve is opened. The head slips easily over both Schrader and Presta valves, and the control knob is knurled for grip and simple to operate

What I like is the push-to-connect feature. I had another inflator that requires screwing it to the valve (I only have tires with Presta valve), but then every single time I remove it (after inflating it), the inner core stem would come off and deflate the tire again (that's why I always carry a portable pump). The nice thing of this inflator is that you push it to the valve and inflate, then to remove you pull it out. It maintains a good seal and let you inflate the tire with good control. Since to remove it you don't need to unscrew anything, the inner core stem remains in place.

Good quality and easy to use. Very small and light, easy to pack. Have used many times without issue. Having the control valve makes it much easier to use than the old ones that lacked it. Has saved me many times. Have one on every bike.

Works well. Tested it by inflating a tube. Easy to use and connect to valve. The CO2 cover is a nice touch as the canister gets freezing cold during inflating. Make sure you order some extra CO2 canisters as it seems a canister fills the tube just over once with empty tube (for a 29" x 2.4" mountain bike tube)

Finally, a C02 tube inflator that works. Completely worth the extra few dollars. Tried three others that were terrible. The Lezyne CO2 inflator performed exactly as promised in the video. The entire process took less than 1 minute. It took longer to open my bike kit than it took to attach the CO2 cylinder to the Inflator, open the tube stem, insert the stem into the inflator, turn the flow control to open, fill the tire, remove the inflator, close the stem. The tube was fully inflated. As a side note...one thing I did learn during my research is that the air from a CO2 cartridge will seep out overnight. Once you get home you need to deflat the tire and inflate the tire with air from a regular pump.

This device is small and simple. Screw on the co2 cartridge, push the valve head on your tubes valve, turn the valve open and you have air. You need two hands to do this, but it comes with a sleeve for the cartridge so your hands won't freeze. I guess you could use a small amount of air to seat the tube first, but I use a mini pump to do this. I inflate the tire when the valve is in the 6 o'clock position (as Lezyne illustrates in thier instructions). Which is difficult, unless you have something to lean the wheel on. Probably easier to put the wheel on the bike first, put your bike upside down, then inflate. Kinda pricy for the size, but it works and it is well make. Takes up no room in your jersey pocket or saddle bag. I always pack needed items in my jersey pocket as I have lost a couple of saddle bags while on rides over the years.
