We purchased this wall plate for the “nook” in our kitchen where we charge our (several) devices. We appreciate the clean look without all the charging bricks sticking out. Quickly charges our devices and we can still use the power outlets for other electrical devices. We ordered another one for the office. Now what do I do with all the extra wall chargers filling the drawer?

Ahh. Nice to have USB C ports that the kids cannot walk away with! So convenient. Charging is quick and no cubes sticking out of the wall or taking up the other plugs. Works as intended. Would recommend.

It is 6cm deep , impossible to fit it in a 8 cm deep box considering these use 5 wires . Useless to me

The outlet, gfci part of the item works. I bought this item specifically to have a charger in the bathroom at all times. Both USB C ports do not generate any power, and you are unable to use them.I placed two separate orders, and both items were defective.DO NOT BUY

I should have looked more carefully at the description. The USB C works fine if you use a USB C / lightning cable attached to your phone, but it won't power my MagSafe charger. Only 2.1 amps. Otherwise it is well-made and the included directions are clearly written.

I have been installing combination GFCI and USB receptacles in both new construction and remodeling. They provide great utility and convenience in today's world of everything USB charging. This one features dual USB C jacks for the most current cables as of 2021. The smaller connectors on the USB C are superseding the older USB A jacks and cables. The pricing has also slowly come down as they have become more mainstream and available from most all manufacturers. But currently it seems higher due to supply chain issues and the current state of world events. This one from Pass and Seymour is as to be expected from a big manufacture like them. It is very good quality and from a well known brand in the electrical industry. It comes with a matching wall plate. You should get many years of dependable use from this one. GFCI receptacles run self checking tests 24/7, so I have found over the years that they do go bad and usually the symptom will be that they won't be able to be reset with the 'reset' button on the front of the receptacle. Eventually it will need to be replaced. The combination of USB Charging and GFCI protection circuits inside one device also make it prone to possible failure of one feature before the other. However the aesthetics and convenient of not needing a wall charger plugged in are very appealing. 4 solid stars.

This thing has three noteworthy benefits. First, it’s a 15-amp GFCI outlet. So if you need to protect a circuit, place this as the first outlet on the circuit and then the whole circuit is protected. New construction that wants to protect an outdoor circuit will often put this as the first outlet on the circuit in a bathroom, and then run the other bathroom outlets and the outdoor outlets off the same circuit this outlet is on. That way, the whole outlet is protected off this initial GFCI.But you don’t typically want to add this to a circuit that already has a GFCI outlet upstream from it. If you do, you may have great trouble finding out why this outlet seems not to work when it’s the upstream outlet that has actually tripped. I’ve learned this lesson the hard way—by being flummoxed by an apparently powerless and broken GFCI only to learn that there’s a hidden GFCI upstream. The second and third good things about this are a childproofing shutter system which seems to allow access to the actual contacts only when two prongs are presented simultaneously and a pair of USB-C ports. The USB-C ports are a great addition, rendering an adapter superfluous for many USB-C charging needs. But beware that the two USB-C ports only share a 2 amp power supply. Any USB-C laptop or other power draw that requires signifcant wattage will only charge very slowly through these ports—if at all.Comes with a nice white cover plate—a nice touch.

This was installed in my kitchen, replacing an older GFCI that was in good working condition. It took me all of 15 minutes to DIY install. As the pictures show, it is deeper than the GFCI it replaced, so you need a deep electrical box to handle it.There is no light when the unit is functioning properly, and a red LED when the GFCI trips. I tested it with a known faulty heater, and it tripped immediately. It also tripped immediately when I plugged the heater into a downstream outlet. I like that the USBs are still accessible even with larger wall wart plugs. The wires are clamped in with screw terminals. However, all the wiring is external. It's a strictly personal preference, but I like when the wires go inside holes in the back, not on the sides. Given how much deeper this one is, it makes sense the way they designed it, though. Wires coming out the back would get crushed. The strip gauge makes the exposed leads longer than they need to be. A nylon cover with captive screws is included in the package... Nice touch.Only things that would make this better is if it had a green LED to show that the power is on, and if it supported fast charging. Still better than having to leave a charger plugged into one of the precious kitchen outlets. Seeing how much this gets used, I wouldn't be surprised if my wife wants them in the bathrooms and the other kitchen wall soon.
