I purchased the LEE Tippe Micro-Gel Fingertip Grips (10pk assorted colors) mainly to keep my left thumb from slipping on the neck of my mandolin as I play. (My mandolin has a narrow neck with high gloss lacquer which makes it very slippery after prolong playing, and I wanted something to help keep my thumb more stable while I play.) I just received the fingertip grips today, and tried one out while briefly doodling on the mandolin, so cannot say whether or not they will work as hoped. I will update my review after trying them for a longer period of time, but did want to post a review in regards to product quality, design, and to comment on various questions and comments posted by other consumers that I have seen in regards to sizing. These micro-gel fingertip grips are way different in design, texture, feel, and fit than the thick rubber thumb grips of old. Because they are so different I think people will either love or hate them, but even if they don’t like them at first if they would just give the gel grips a fair try they may come to prefer them over standard thumb grips, once they got use to them. Me? If I were using them in the office or while thumbing through books, reports, and other paperwork (as they were intended), I think I would prefer them hands down over standard thumb grips. They are more lightweight and less restricting (I'm wearing a thumb grip right now as I type, drink my coffee, check my phone messages, etc., and it isn't awkward or hindering my movement or ability to use my thumb in the least.) These gel thumb grips are also less sweaty and hot than the other kind, and I think that the ribbing (friction ridges) on the underside of the thumb will facilitate grabbing paper and making it way easier to handle. The grips are latex free, acid and PVC free, breathable, washable, and very, very comfortable to wear. It is also cool that they come in assorted colors; yeah because colors are cheery, but also because if multiple people in an office use the finger grips, color coding helps to identify which grip belongs to who. The quality seems good, although they do feel squishier than I expected. All in all I think they are a great product that will catch on – AS LONG AS THE RIGHT SIZE IS ORDERED, which brings me to the comments I would like to make about sizing. The grips come in the following sizes: 3 (X-small), 5 (small), 7 (medium), 9 (large), 11 (X-large)Before ordering my gel fingertip grips I labored over what size to order. Comments by other reviewers were conflicting, and the tip about ordering according to ring size was misleading.Based upon how a size-9 ring fit on my thumb (see image below), I ordered my thumb grips in size 9 (large). But they are too big, and not snug enough on the ball of my thumb if I position the lip of the grip under my thumbnail (as is pictured in the ad and on the box). They they fit snuggly, however, when I extend the lip of the grip OVER the tip of my thumbnail (see image below); it catches on one of the friction ridges on the underside and stays in place. If I had it do do over again, I would have ordered a size 7 (medium).Note: persons not sure about what size will best suit their purposes might consider ordering the 10 pack of assorted colors and sizes MAY 27, 2016 UPDATE: these micro-gel fingertip grips do work perfectly for the purpose I purchased them for - to provide traction for the ball of my left thumb, so that it didn't slip on the high-sheen polish on my mandolin's neck after playing for extended periods of time. So very glad I found these!Note: I did NOT receive this product at a free or reduced price in exchange for a review. I paid full price for my Lee Tippi Micro-Gel Fingertip Grips. This review took time to write, but I wanted to be as helpful and informative as possible. Why? Because, like you, I depend upon the comments and experiences of others when making an Amazon purchasing decision.

Going by ring size resulted in the Fingertip grips being too large too use. "Grippyness" is good though.

These are amazing, I just got the wrong size, am ordering smaller. I cannot take a chance that bacteria will gather like with the traditional rubber fingertips, as I have RA and am on meds that immunities are in jeopardy, literally I can get a fungus very easily. These are perfect!
