The sewing machine was not adjusted properly, but the biggest problem was the thread. I wouldn’t sew a shirt with that weak, cheap thread.

Making tool pouches like this has a few basic components: materials, design, and execution.Design. I got it to hold chisels and gouges and it does that nicely. The pockets protect the business ends of the tools, keeping them from getting nicked and they are big enough to hole all but the largest gouges. The pockets are staggered so that handles are positioned between pockets on the alternate side. It is single stitched rather than double stitched because the pockets are formed in a different, I think better, way. Good job. *****Materials. This is full grain cowhide. What is less clear from the description is whether it is vegetable or chrome tanned. My boiling water test suggests that it is chrome tanned. Why can’t they just say so? This is not good from an environmental perspective, since the acids and chrome VI are so toxic. The leather is a little stiff. Some treatment with saddle soap or a natural oil will make it a little more supple and provide more protection for your tools. Think back to breaking in that Ernie Banks baseball glove. Some of these treatments may change the color. ****Execution. The stitching is not well done. The thread used is too fine. Mine had a number of missing stitches that had broken. Too bad. It is still a good design, but will not likely last as long or provide as much pleasure to use (the whole point). **

As a hobbyist woodworker, I keep my best chisels hanging on the wall for quick/easy access, but what to do with lesser chisels that I don’t use often but still want to protect? Enter this tool wrap!Slip my second-string chisels into the wrap, secure it with the strap and store the whole thing in one of my tool chests. Lots of slots… thick leather material… strap to tie it closed… couldn’t ask for more, or better.Would absolutely but again.
