I ordered this item based on the picture. The description did not state that this was just ONE rod of the sharpening set which was what I received(ONE rod). Other people rated this item and described it as a system and not a rod. I will never again purchase for this person.

I use the coarse black rod at 25 to sharpen most everything. Leaves a rough cutting edge that works well and lasts as long as the steel will let it. Work with my knives daily. My knives are box cutters, wire strippers, putty knives, and occasionally a screwdriver or mini pry bar.White rod is s l o w, but nice edge for the kitchen, would never dream of abusing my Henkels.BTW - Lansky kits come with two rods of each grade, but you only really need one each.

These rods seem a bit short, so be carefully when using the knife. They also seem coarse grit, so you may need to polish the blade on a steel or similar item. They cut fast for me if a bit rough.

This knife sharpening system is awesome! I was able to sharpen my kitchen and hunting knives in a matter of seconds..
