Wheels did not come in Labeda packaging. They were in a loose bag, I was skeptical already if they are real. I put them on and rolled out into the street with my kid. I turned to skate backwards and the wheel came of the rim and stopped me like a break and it destroyed my lower back. I have played hockey for years and never once saw a wheel come of the rim especially less then 1 min old.

I'm a fan of Labeda and most of their wheels and perhaps that's why I expected more from the outdoor wheels. Playing on semi smooth pavement, they wore pretty quickly. I play high level hockey and they required rotating after each skate (about 2 hours outdoors) in order to maximize the life of the wheel. Even with that, I got about 5 total skates until they were significantly worn. I should mention I weigh 200lbs so that does contribute to the wear.

They have certainly lasted much longer than the Bauer wheels that came with my inline hockey skates. They stick very well on concrete. I wouldn’t dare use these on a slick surface, but they excel at what I use them for - driveway hockey.

I've played roller and ice hockey for 20+ years but I needed outdoor wheels so I could skate with my siberian husky and not destroy my indoor wheels. We skate anywhere from 4-10 miles a day (as long as the pavement is dry). I am just now rotating them after about 5 months of heavy use. The wheels are incredibly durable and they roll very well. They also provide great grip when going around sharp corners while being pulled by my dog. Very reliable grip in my opinion. Again, as long as the wheels/pavement are completely dry, you can trust the wheels to not randomly make you slip and fall. I haven't had any big chunks break off or any other serious damaage/wear from manufactur's defects. With my current skating volume, I expect these to last another 1-2 years before needing to be replaced. I would definitely recommend these to anyone looking for outdoor wheels.

Every roller hockey player knows these wear the longest on rough asphalt pavement. They NEVER shed chunks or come off the hub. The grip is good. Expensive, but worth it.

These wheels are beyond amazing! I own a couple Ripstiks and was looking for a wheel that wouldn't wear out as fast and could actually grip on outdoor surfaces. I tried another type before this one that had a hardness rating of 86A ( This has 84A). However, these hold up so much better, so I came to the conclusion that the "Labeda" name comes into play here. The material used on these wheels grips the asphalt and concrete so well I'm now able to do a 360 turn without any skidding, even while traveling quickly down a hill. After a couple hours of riding on them I could hardly notice any wear at all on them. When combined with Bones Super Swiss 6 Bearings (I HIGHLY recommend these! Link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FDQ0E2 ) the ride becomes so smooth it's like gliding on ice. I also saw a review stating that these 80mm wheels are too big for a ripstik. This is NOT true as they fit perfectly on both my DLX and standard Ripstik. This statement was probably for the smaller kiddy board, the Ripster.

Used these to replace the wheels on two Costco carry-ons. Kind of difficult since the originals were not designed to be replaceable - had to make new axles. The wheels are perfect, though. Hardness just right and the bright orange color makes them unique and easy to spot at baggage claim if we choose to check them. No matter what the orientation of the bag on the conveyor, you can nearly always see at least one florescent orange corner. Add good bearings and the luggage rolls way better than it ever did.

I have only ever used the Labeda Asphalt wheels from the Labeda lineup, but if I ever did do any other kind of skating, I imagine I would also stick with this brand. These are the exact wheels you can find anywhere else for the lowest price I could find online, have not used a better outdoor wheel on my inline skates. The cone of the wheel feels immediately natural and very stable right away. Not like other wheels that require some break in before you get used to them. The most durable wheel I've used, lasting far longer than comparable hardness ratings by other companies.
