Product Description

The distinctive, modern design of the Vault dual-mount sink lends a contemporary vibe to your kitchen. Handcrafted from stainless steel, this sink features tightly angled corners to maximize basin space and lowered divider for freedom of movement between basins. When installed as a top-mount sink, Vault offers a low-profile rim that makes it easier to wipe from the countertop directly into the bowl. An included bottom sink rack fits the large bowl and helps prevent scratches.

From the Manufacturer

The new Vault Smart Divide offset sink is an innovative dual-mount sink, meaning the same sink can be installed as a self-rimming (above the countertop) or undercounter sink. When installed in a self-rimming application, the Vault fabricated sink is able to be used as a replacement sink in an existing cutout, appealing to customers who want a differentiated aesthetic without having to replace their countertops. Additionally, the low-profile 1.25mm rim provides a flush-mount functionality, making wiping debris from the countertop directly into the sink basin easier than a typical self-rimming sink. 9-inch deep basins and tight corner radii maximize usable basin space, while the innovative Smart Divide low-profile divider better accommodates large pots and helps keep water where it belongs.

Generally I love Kohler and what they stand for. I purchased $10K of Kohler product for redesign of three bathrooms and kitchen and for the most part have been very happy with the design, look and use of the product. Except this sink which I got installed last Friday. As it turns out the sink had a corner that was rusted or had a rust mark and I didn’t notice it until my countertop guys installed it. I am attaching photos to show the issue (first one shows the rust, second shows it after the prescribed washing and third shows it was right after installation as even the faucet isn’t installed). I hadn’t even installed the Kohler faucet onto the sink when I noticed it. I called Kohler and the guy told me I could use Barkeepers Friend and then use Steel cleaner & polish it and it should go away. I tried it and the rust still shows up. The only other choice I was given was replace the sink as it had a lifetime warranty. I told him the countertop guys had already installed the sink and it would cost me money to replace it but he was adamant that warranty only covered material and not labor, This is ridiculous as I hadn’t even started using the sink and realized that it was sent to me defective. I am super disappointed that they wouldn’t have someone replace the sink for me and just replace the part. That’s not what I would expect when I purchase a premium product from a premium company (or at least I thought I was!) and they dupe me like this. Why should I pay for their mistake. The person I talked to was kind of arrogant so decided to just share my views on the product review. Also, I just noticed that another user had the exact same issue with rust!

Doesn’t worth the price.Hard to clean, noisy ( feels like poor gauge). The only good thing about this product is it’s flat edge. But I’m sure there are better products for less that would do the same

I love it! I read a review that said a woman hated it because of the water spots. It is true that it shows water spots, and it does scratch easier than the forty year old stainless steel sink that I was replacing, but I still really like it. I use the racks in the bottom to keep scratching at a minimum. I dry it after I do dishes, because I am a little obsessive. It is well made. The design looks very classy in my country kitchen.

I just adore this sink! I've only had it for less than a week but I just love it! I bought this sink because of the low divide and the squared off look.I knocked it down a star because our countertop installers had quite the ordeal with the counter installation and the sink. This is undermount and we had quartz counters installed over it. I'm not sure who's fault this is but they say that the template was wrong. Not only did the first slab come with rounded corners (they said that is how the template was) and not squared off, but the top left and right was pretty flush, but as you got down to the bottom left and right there was about an 1/8" sink reveal on each side. That was completely unacceptable to me so unfortunately for them they had to cut a new slab for me. They swear it was the template however they never did bring it to me (said it was always "at the shop") so I'm not sure who is at fault. My recommendation would be to lay the template over the sink and actually match it up/look at it closely to make sure it is correct. Also, I have 3 holes in mine. The faucet which I wanted dead center (the hole is not dead center), the soap dispenser on the left side about 6" from the center (they had to drill through the sink-I'm sure this voids my warranty) and the air gap (used an existing hole on the right).I found that since it is so much deeper than my old sink that I really have to waste more water to move the food around to get it down the garbage disposal (new faucet is Blanco Culina). I bought the little grate thing for the other side of the sink (it comes with one). All in all, great sink and I love the low divide.

This review is for the Kohler Smart-Divide offset sink. We purchased this sink for our recent kitchen remodel. We planned for a traditional/transitional design, and the style fits perfectly. We had the unit under-mounted to our new granite countertops. This brought up two issues:1) Our granite fabricator noted that the holes for the faucet and accessories (seen along the top edge of the sink) would work fine in a top-mount application, but would have to be modified for under-mount. The holes did not allow for enough granite between opening for the sink and the holes themselves, potentially causing a weak spot in the granite. He had to cut the steel so that the holes for the faucet could move about 2 cm further from the edge.2) Our plumber noted that the the stiffening bar on the underside of the top edge would interfere with our faucet installation. It is spot-welded on, but he was able to remove it without too much struggle. He fabricated small braces to act in place of the stiffener. Again, the bar would not be an issue in a top-mount installation, but since we had to relocate the holes slightly to under-mount, the bar had to go.In all, we're very pleased with the sink, but we want to make sure that other customers can bring these issues to their fabricators and installers before they become a problem. We're confident that the granite has sufficient strength at the faucet holes now that they are moved back slightly, and that the sink will maintain rigidity after the stiffener has been removed. If you are planning a top-mount installation, you should have no worries at all. It's a beautiful sink with sleek lines and an intelligent design for how most people use a kitchen sink these days. Enjoy!

The low divider makes this sink wonderful to use. Washing big pots is so much easier in this sink because I can use the whole width of the sink without spraying water everywhere. We installed this as a drop-in and it's nicely flush with the existing countertop. Highly recommended.
