The screen works fine but the manual needs to be better. It needs to explain things in more detail.

LuckFox is a trusted brand I've worked with for a while, and this display lives up to their reputation for quality. Using the DSI connection, it requires only a flat cable to connect to the RPi5 - no need for HDMI adapters. It even includes mounting points for securing the Raspberry Pi, making it a practical choice for compact setups. The screen is ideal for mini HMI projects or displaying relevant information, with vibrant visuals thanks to its IPS panel and adjustable brightness. The capacitive touch is smooth and responsive, and the low-power design leaves GPIO pins free for other uses. Easy to configure and perfect for integrated Raspberry Pi projects. Highly recommended.

This LUCKFOX 5-inch DSI display has been a fantastic upgrade for my Raspberry Pi CM4. The 800x480 resolution and capacitive touch functionality provide a crisp and responsive user interface. I was able to securely attach my CM4 to the back of the screen, creating a compact and integrated unit. The 178° viewing angle and toughened glass panel make it durable and easy to view from different perspectives. I highly recommend this display for anyone looking for a high-quality and easy-to-use screen for their Raspberry Pi CM4.

The screen and touchscreen technology is high quality. It is an IPS screen and the colors are excellent and has excellent viewing angles. The touchscreen works great and exactly as you'd expect touchscreens to work. Makes the pi just feel really cool and premium although those huge bezels still make it look pretty dated as well.I used it on pi5 and it has the DSI cable with the smaller connector in one side. You only get one of those while you get two of the other cable for pi4. The connection is very straightforward and everything just works right away. It comes with 4 cables but I just connected the power and ground but I believe it is for SDL and SDA which are I2C for sending data but DSI already does it for pi4 and pi5. This definitely needs a case to be usable and should 3d print one or get one for pi4. I really wish this came with a case but different pis have different IO layouts.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5)Got myself the KLAYERS LUCKFOX 5-inch DSI Display for my Raspberry Pi, and let me say, it’s quite the nifty gadget! At $40, it's pretty reasonable considering what it brings to the table. The 800x480 resolution is just right for Pi projects, and the capacitive touch feature is super responsive—almost makes me feel like I'm handling a tiny, rebellious tablet. The viewing angle is a delightful 178°, meaning you can still see everything while looking at it sideways (useful when impressing friends with your cool new project). The toughened glass adds a bit of that "I won't shatter at the first mistake" confidence, which I like.Sure, it’s not perfect—there were a couple of hiccups getting it to work with my Raspberry Pi 4, but after some googling, everything came together. For the price, it’s a solid little display that does what it needs to, just be ready for some initial tinkering. Overall, a fun and functional piece of gear for your Pi adventures!

I have a lightweight Raspbian install setup with minimal GUI packages installed so that I can launch Chrome in kiosk mode, and this works surprisingly well. I am using a RaspberryPi 4 w/ 1 gb of ram, and I think this is probably the minimum system spec to drive a display w/ a UI & touchscreen. After receiving this I was looking for a case and through some experimentation found out that the dimensions & screw mounting holes on the back are compatible with the official Raspberry Pi 7" display. So 3d printed cases for the official Raspberry Pi 7" screen work with this as well. The screen is clear & bright, the touch controls feel responsive. Only problems I have had were related to having an under powered raspberrypi.
