Using it on a very old Intel Mac (late 2013 MacBook Pro) and works great. As long as you can boot from an external drive, it ought to do fine. One caveat--had a hard time getting a lot of USB gamepads to work. None of my 8bitdo controllers would allow me to start any games, although I could scroll between. The only one I have that works--and I have a lot--is a Logitech G F310 wired unit. Since I've only used it on an old Mac, I can't tell you if it would work better on a unit manufactured for Windows only. My guess is it would. Great selection of games, great value. Thanks, President for life Xi.

It’s not too terrible if you’re somewhat tech savvy, but definitely don’t expect this to be no fuss plug and play. Some glitches. A bit of a sound issue in many games. Some controls are a bit funky in some of the games. But all in all great for nostalgia.

I know for a fact this is going to be a lot of fun to play based upon the tutorials I've seen. However, out of all the setup tutorials, none of them seem to help with booting it on my computer. I've gone in and changed the settings just like it said and I've also done the way that the instruction say. Still can't seem to boot it up on my Alienware PC. I will change my review and rating as soon as I can get some better help. Update... Finally got it to boot bath. Extremely difficult to back out of games and I know there's cheats but there's no easy way to access them. Played a few games and it was fun. There just needs to be better instructions

I know people run these products down, and I understand that. You can totally build a system like this yourself, but I figure the price is worth the time it saved in setting it up. It's easy to upgrade Batocera and add your own customizations, if you know what you're doing with Batocera, and there's plenty of online resources to learn. Worth it for me!

Look into Batocera which is a Linux based operating system that incorporates different emulators. That is what this is, but has been customized and has TONS of roms to play. Works great and has inspired me to build a dedicated machine to run Batocera on just for games. This is worth it for the roms alone, but it works plug and play so theres no need to do more unless you're into building computers. Just set your PC or laptop to boot from USB and play.

I just set it up today, so I don't have a lot of experience on it but it worked well. Set up was easier than a lot of stuff I was seeing online led me to believe it would be (using Windows 11). All the games I tried worked great. Also, I read a review that said they were super fragile and maybe I just got lucky, but I knocked it off my desk while setting it up and it had no problems after.

Everything is great except you won't be able to run any of the "higher-end" consoles from this through the USB interface. They're using a cheap 375 MB/s HDD...too slow for Dreamcast, Gamecube, or newer consoles. Otherwise, it's a very well-put-together package. The Batocera interface is slick and most console/arcade/etc configurations work. My workaround for the slow drive was to install Launchbox on my PC and copy the ROMs over, which means some configuration work for you if you go that route.I still like it despite the aforementioned limitations. And for the price, I can't be mad about the low-end HDD.
