1 - these were not as sturdy and the other brand I bought 2 years ago. However they are half the price and I'm on a strict budget so they were okay.2 - the holes don't really line up for the screws. I found the easiest way to install them is to make sure the bracket is flush to the wall before screwing it into the drilled hole. A slight angle to the drilled hole was an alternative to making sure the screw didn't cross thread in the bracket.3 - the straps appear upside down. To tighten them, I actually have to reach behind the kayak and pull down bland they loosen easily with a slight tug on the kayak. That kind of defeats the purpose. When I finish the rest of the garage project, I'll change the straps around so they are threaded the right direction.Again - they were half price so I guess I got what I paid for.

Finally....no more tripping and working your way around kayaks. Installed them under overhang of shed. Easy to lift kayaks up and mounted against shed wall. Bonus, brackets are very sturdy and the straps hold kayaks tight in place. Went through 125km gusty winds, Hurricane!!! and nothing moved, all was still in place. Thank you. Why did we not think of that before? And no more slugs etc. in kayaks.
