These turn a tighter 90 corner than the usual. I have a tight place with pipes very closeto the wall and needed to get as close a possible with the next pipes and this helps.Nice material, no rust, etc...

I have a situation where I need to make a sharp right angle turn where a compressed air reel is mounted on a wall between my two garage doors and I need to connect it to the main air pipe line at the ceiling above it. There are several other "obstacles" all around that confined area (including the two door tracks just over a foot apart. So it is problematic to just curve a flexible air hose to make the turn. Using one of these 1/4" brass elbows will allow my flexible feeder air hose to run straight up (dodging the "obstacles") to the air pipe line at the ceiling. The solid brass elbows eliminates any problem of having incompatible metals screwed to the hose and to the reel connection. The 1/4" NPT is the standard connection threads for small system compressed air components. So that makes everything compatible without resorting to adapters to make everything fit together. And as you can see in my photo, these are high quality fittings - as have been other products that I have used from Joywayus. This is a good solution to my space problem.

Like most of the brass pieces that I have ordered from Joywayus, these 90 degree elbows are a winner. The solid brass elbows are nicely threaded with no burrs on the threading and are cut to National Pipe Thread standards. They correctly thread in 3 to 3 1/2 turns before they tighten in the mating connector. They are supplied in a reasonably tight fitting plastic box to minimize bumping into each other during transit and damaging the threads. The wrench tightening flat area of the connector is a very generous size given the small size of the connector. So far I've used one of these elbows with yellow Teflon tape on a propane gas line with excellent results. The connection is leak free. Thank you Joywayus!

Works well for what it does. Cheaper than single piece items at the box stores

These look nice and seem to be well made. They worked well with FIP with rubber seals. Those premade flexible hoses. For use with standard pipe thread, I had a lot of trouble. the threads are cut to far back so to get them to actually stop leaking I had to use about 1/8" Teflon tape. far more than is normal. That is like 15 complete wraps or more. once I used that much tape they did seal. If you buy these and the price is great, plan on a lot of tape and then you will be fine. as tape is cheap, it wasn't an issue I was just surprised to have to apply that much, it took me 3 or 4 complete drain and fill cycles before I realized how much tape was required. They have now been in use for a month and no leaks.

THESE "1/2 inch Pipe thread" elbows are STRAIGHT THREAD AND DO NOT HAVE THE REQUIRED SEATING SURFACE BEVEL ON THE END TO ENABLE THEM TO SEAT WITH ANOTHER STRAIGHT THREAD PIPE FITTING! The are useless to anyone. Since straight thread pipe fittings are less common than tapered pipe threaded, most customers will assume they are tapered UNLESS STATED OTHERWISE. But since these are not even to "straight thread" fitting specs they ARE USELESS!

While these appear to be machined beautifully, and the price is certainly great, BEWARE!! The threads are not machined to spec and you will never be able to get these to not leak. The threads are way too loose and a correctly sized NPT part will simply screw in all the way, bottom out, and never seal.If you're building artwork, these might be useful. For anything involving real plumbing, they are useless.
