My kayak was delivered today. It replaced the same model that was destroyed when a tree fell on it so I know it's a great kayak! My only problem is with the shipper, NSD. The kayak arrived at their warehouse, 15 miles from my home, last Saturday. It was supposed to be delivered Sunday. Then Amazon tracking said Wednesday. Then it was changed to today, Friday. I'm so happy I finally got it! My advice to Amazon is not to use this shipper. They are not reliable. My advice to anyone who has a package shipped by this company is: be prepared to wait!

It all started out as only planning on getting a kayak for my stepdaughter for her coming birthday. Once I picked out a really nice Pelican brand I started scrolling through more kayaks with the thought; "she's NOT going to want to go alone". So, with the sit-on-top choices I browsed through, I found this one as an alternative, considering the first choice was no longer in stock, this particular kayak became my 2nd option. Within a few minutes of completing cutting the grass, the delivery arrived with 2 guys greeting me in the front yard, really nice guys, very professional & appeared to be somewhat envious of my planned day to come to take my stepdaughter kayaking for her birthday with her VERY OWN kayak that she's been wanting for years. The delivery team was great, exceptionally great character & genuine! Thanks guys & keep them smiles bright & demeanor as is & I'm almost certain you'll always get 5 stars like I have just given you!!

1st impressions are that it was sloppily made, the drain plug attachments weren't screwed in flush to the hull (more about that later). The kayak sounded like a pair of maracas when it was moved, it turned out that hull was filled with plastic shavings. The detachable storage compartment isn't an interference fit and is loosely held in by a bungee, if you pick up the kayak, it will fall on your head.I'm 5'10" 190lbs and had the foot rests moved out to the furthest they would go and still felt cramped. Also I am used to using sit-on kayaks, but this one is incredibly unstable although it does get better as it takes on water, which it does at about the rate of a gallon a minute. The "self bailing" scuppers are about the width of a pencil and in no way can keep up with draining the cockpit it it takes any water over the side. This of course is exacerbated by the hull sinking deeper due to the weight of water it takes on.If you buy this, make sure it's seaworthy in a swimming pool first!

I'm on my second summer with this kayak, and overall it's just ok. It floats, it's lightweight, and the storage on it is adequate. I see lots of reviewers complaining about the scupper holes, but just plug them and it's a cheap easy fix. I'm 6'0" and a long day on the water gets my legs feeling a little cramped, so if you're any taller you'll be much happier with a 12 foot model.A couple of major complaints: This weekend I was out with it and had to drag it back up a small incline to my vehicle, and when I got it loaded up I saw a hole had opened up on the bottom! I felt around it and the plastic in that spot (the "point" on the bottom rear) was thin and flimsy. I've been able to get it patched, but I expect a kayak to be more durable than that. I'm lucky it didn't happen while beaching in the middle of a trip or something. Also, whenever I get rained on I'd get water inside the body of the kayak. Not enough to sink it, but it was an annoyance to have to drain out every time. I figured it was a hole I hadn't sealed since I'd added some accessories (sonar mount, anchor cleat, etc), but I finally tipped it over with water inside to find where it was leaking back out of, and it was the screw holes the manufacturer had put in. Clearly they did not take the time or effort to properly seal them, but that's what you get going cheap.Long story short, if you're looking for something to mess around in on a budget, this thing is perfect. If you're going to be getting serious about kayak fishing, save up and get something a little better. After 2 years I'm already looking to upgrade.

This kayak is not as bad as people say, a lot of people say it's bad or doesn't track well or isn't stable well it tracks very well, and it's very stable in fact I'm able to put my feet over the side and fish from it, the tow compartment is great for storing my food or water bottles and I put my gear in the back , only thing is you my wanna fill the scupper holes so your butt doesn't get wet cause those do fill up, I'm able to paddle mine through some fairly strong currents with ease its not a high end fishing kayak but for the price this thing is awesome, just as a side note I can take my dog on this and it's stable enough for him to stand in the front, also I'm a heafty guy so this thing can definitely support a good amount of weight plus gear.

I see that other people who ordered this kayak got a paddle that came with it..mine didn't and im kinda upset about it. But other than that it's a good 1st timmer kayak .I'm 5.11 220 pounds. The max weight limit is 250 and It seems to hold me nicely. My legs are bent comfortably. The seat is hard through (just a warning). I did have to seal the 4 small water drainer holes that were inside the yak. 2 on the seat, and 2 by the foot rests. However with my size it is kinda shakey so if you big liken me, take your time to get a feel for your yak in shallow water. I'm only rating 4 stars because I didn't get my paddle. If your into fishing on the water and thinking about getting this kayak. This would be a good choice. But if your a bigger person (200-250) maybe get the 12 foot version of this OR do what I did and take your time to get use to it.

I was skeptical about a sit on kayak but I love this for adventures on my own. I basically wanted a one person canoe for when I go out on the water while my wife is working and can't come canoe with me. This is great for that. I'm 220lbs and I could still pack a lunch, water, my camera, and a change of clothes in the watertight compartment. Not too heavy to carry on my own either. I carry it 3 blocks to the beach sometimes.
