Very disappointed in the bandsaw, am not able to get a square cut with it using it as a horizontal bandsaw; if I get the vertical cut square, the horizontal cut is off and vis versa.It is one hell of an expensive paper weight/ boat anchorI would not recommend this bandsaw to anyone

Complete garbage for what it's worth. I don't understand why these companies charge so much for the same Chinese made trash. The brand new blade didn't even last a week. Don't fall for the scam.

This saw replaced a 30+ year old belt drive version of the same saw, so I already knew it was accurate and durable. The direct drive DC motor takes it to another level. The plastic cover housing the motor and providing control mount, however, is fragile. This is the only disappointment on an otherwise excellent machine.

Constantly falling apart, after 6 months and 5 times of use, the power switch broke. The overall quality is terrible.

OK After all the bandsaws I bought at Harbor Freight (3) I spent a little more money and bought this one.The first thing I noticed was I didn't have to work for a hour aligning it. It cut at a 90 degree angle with out a problem. I also like the speed control. Not messing with belts to change speeds. I highly recommend this saw for the small shops and hobbyist. After 1 year I had to replace the blade because it broke when cutting some thick stainless steel.Well worth the money...

As received, the bandsaw was missing two small parts (the adjustment wrench and two flat washers). I attempted to contact Empire twice through Amazon's messaging utility, without success, then posted a review listing the problem. Empire got back to me nearly immediately; they hadn't gotten the messages, but wanted to make it right. They pointed me towards the manufacturer, who was able to supply the missing parts, which arrived about a week later. To be clear: Empire couldn't know that there were missing parts in a sealed box, and their response when advised of the issue was five-star. The saw works as advertised, and I'm happy with it. I wasn't happy to be told by Jet that there's a seven-day deadline to request the parts that didn't make it into the box in the first place, even though they eventually sent them.

Till this morning I was under the impression that you get what you paid for, so naturally I didn't expect 700$ JET bandsaw to be similar to 100$ China manufactured tool. While assembling it I noticed a few scratches on the metal stand but figured that given JET reputation it was probably scratched during shipment and not a big deal - after all metal cutter is not a jewel and complaining about minor scratches is petty and unwarranted. However 1 hour later I mounted top of the saw to the stand and discovered that auto shutoff assembly is both damaged and WORN. Note that rubber is chewed while internals of auto shutoff were all misaligned as in sloppy patch job afterwards.Dear JET, this bandsaw is not good enough for a serious shop (a touch under-powered, no hydraulics, coolant etc) but rather for ambitious DIY guys, such as myself. What it means that I spend half of my weekend waiting for delivery and hours assembling 100+ lb tool myself. Now I have to go and do it all again to send this pile of crap back to amazon. The only cancellation is that I got 75$ back from a helpful amazon guy and I hope it can be taken out of the salary of whoever decided to pass this turd for a brand new JET quality product. Thanks again JET - another "premium" brand not to be touched with 10 ft poll.
