Cultivation of this plant should be done by spreading a thin layer of Java Moss on top of a solid substrate as a rock or a piece of root. This can be done by attaching it to the substrate with a thin fishing line or a cotton thread. Although it does not require strong lighting, it should be spread equally so every stems have access to the light. After a few months, it will anchor itself to its substrate and the fishing line could be removed. Some hobbyists have experienced good success in letting Java Moss float at the surface of the aquarium or in stapling it to a piece of driftwood. Almost any substrate can be used for Java Moss to attach to (even the aquarium glass!). This plant can be grown submerged or emersed. In the wild, Vesicularia Dubyana grows on the trees and stones of the very humid region of Southeast Asia.

Package arrived earlier than expected, but the product was fantastic. It's the right size for what I did with it, the color was alil pale, but nothing a few hours of light can't fix, and it looks strong n healthy in my shrimp tank.

After 4 months, this is still nothing but an ugly brown lump of fibrous material in the fish tank. This is nothing more than decorative terrarium moss colored green with dye.

The moss arrived in a small sealed bag approx 2x3”. There were several brown spots within the moss. Once I put it in my tank the pieces separated into lots of tiny sprigs which were impossible to tie down because they were not connected to each other. I will wait and see and hope it starts to grow and recover its color.

The price is very good, so what I did was I bought seven packages and the shipping cost wasn't too bad. However, the moss was brown. It also came in a big glop of pieces rather than as a continuous plant. A little bit of green in there as you can see in the photo. After one day this is the result. The green is perking up a little bit and hopefully it will survive. I bought it to ensure my neocaridina shrimp breeding.

The moss did brown down a bit, but that's to be expected. It bounced back and is growing well.

I ordered 2 bunches of Java moss, and I am very pleased with my order. I received two nice portions of bright green, healthy looking moss. (see photo)I almost gave this a 4 star rating instead of 5 stars for the following reasons. 1) My order wasn't shipped until 7 days after I placed the order, and It took another week to arrive at my house. 2) There were 3 tiny hitch hiker snails in the moss.So why did I decide on a 5 star rating? In spite of having to wait two weeks to receive my order, I am absolutely delighted with the quantity and quality of the moss I received. As for the snails -- or hitch hikers of any sort -- unless one orders plants grown from tissue culture, one should always expect hitch hikers and treat the plant accordingly before placing the plant in an aquarium. (Hydrogen peroxide dip works wonders for Java moss.) I don't fault the vendor for the less than 1 mm tiny snails hiding in the moss.Would I buy from this vendor again? Absolutely.

Received the moss is great condition. It was still vibrant green and healthy. I was a bit disappointed at the amount received for the price, especially when looking at what other received, hence the 4 stars. But the moss hasnt died, actually, the bits I'd wedged to it had rooted to my driftwood the next day. It's healthy and was packaged neatly with water inside the tube with the moss, the price is just a bit steep for what you get.
