Data SIM cards seem popular now that voice and video messaging apps are prevalent. These SIM cards provide no phone number for use. It is literally just access to 5G data. And no roaming. You can preinstall prior to flight to Japan. Activation completes once you are in Japan. I tried a similar data SIM card and it would not activate outside of Japan. Do not expect to have any support for this product. Very important to make sure you will need it. Know how to switch SIM card and set APN on your phone. Cheaper than paying for roaming fees on your local data plan.

This seems easy to use and I'm headed to Japan in a month so it could come it very handy...certainly less expensive than the standard international fees my AT&T service charges.I won't know how well it works until after the trip, but it seems like it's pretty straight forward to use and am looking forward to testing it out.

I got this sim card in advance of a trip to Japan, so will update after the trip on how well it worked.For now I can say it does come with the 3-in-1 size sim card so will fit most phones if they take Sim Cards.I had to go with this card as my phone doesn't do e-sims.The instructions are very generic, and not sufficient. They do supply a QR code to see the generic instructions in many languages. But details like what APN to set on phone for Japan are absent.It does come with a little pick tool to open the sim tray, but be aware I have found not all picks work on all phones. Sure enough I tried it on my phone and it wouldn't open the tray sufficiently, so I'll take my pick when traveling.They supply another QR code, to a phone number that can only be used with Whatapp, so I saved the number for the trip in Whatsapp which I'll be able to use via free WIFI if there are issues with the Sim card working.

My Japan trip is not for a couple months so I’m going to update this review if anything goes wrong with the card. But my initial intel seems good. The card fits my phone. The instructions are clear. I reviewed the company a bit and everything seems legit. My Japanese friends say the service with this sim is good easily in the cities, you might have a little spotty signal in some remote areas but you would with other providers as well. Seems to be a great value for the money so far. I’ll post an update if I learn anything otherwise.

Definitely going to save a lot more than going with roaming with my normal carrier. It doesn't activate the 30 days until you plug it into the phone. Seems to work just fine. Shipped relatively quickly in the little cardboard sleeve you see in the picture. Just snap it out and pop it into your phone.
