By ironing on the wrong side of the fabric the colors are heat set for permanence and fade-resistance. Colors on silk have an amazing even luster, on cotton they don't alter the feel of the fabric and on velvet they are rich and vibrant. Non-Toxic paint offers great results on all kinds of fabrics and works on any type of natural or synthetic fiber. Paint is sold as 10 per set that includes brilliant red, sun yellow, azure blue, bright green, bright orange, magenta, violet, chartreuse, turquoise and black colors.

PLEASE ship these glass bottles in a box, not a padded bag! The product is great, have used it before, but it needs to be protected in shipment! A padded bag at least contained the leaking red ink!

Dye-Na-Flow is meant to be thin as water, so it functions almost like an ink but it is still paint. It is machine washable, BUT you should do a fair amount of prep to avoid the HEAVY fading that I saw.I used this and a combination of Jacquard's Lumiere metallic paint. What it does well:* Very thin consistency, after washing fabric does not remain stiff.* It does go a long way! I used a heavier hand than necessary and only used all of the black, blue, and green.* Colors mix like normal paint, so you can get the perfect color!* The thin consistency means the paint spreads, which is great for seamless blending and watercolor effects! What it's not good for:* This paint has low coverage, best used on white fabrics. I used Jacquard's Lumiere paints for highlights, and when I wanted crisp lines.*** Use a resist method to stop the spreading, it seems like an extra step but will save you SO much time in touchups!Tips before washing!* Give your paint time to dry! I was time-crunched and only waited until it was dry to the touch, wait at least 72 hours or longer for better results.* Use a heat press or plan to spend a while ironing your work after it dries. I had a spot I accidentally left my iron sitting on for a while, and it was the only spot that did not fade, do not skimp on this step!

These work great on fabric. As a textile artist, i like the water solubility to gain different visual saturation. Easy to use. I would like a different color palette with more natural colors our of the jar but can mix these well enough to get almost the colors i am looking for. I haven’t tested for color fastness but my pieces won’t be washed

Not at all what I was expecting the colors are not very vibrant and it's not the look for the fabric I was using it on

Love the bright colors. Using them for abstract art. A little goes a long way.

I used this dye to paint on very thin silk. I like that this paint is liquid and doesn't stink of chemicals. Has beautiful, deep and rich colours. I am satisfied with this product and have ordered more additional colours from Jacquard Dye-Na-Flow.

Yes, it's thin, as mentioned in other reviews-- but it has to be, to make a good coating on fabric, yet allow undetectable texture when dry. Just be careful while painting it on not to overload your brush. Recommend experiment with it's consistency on scrap fabric, to learn how to prevent it bleeding into adjacent areas you don't wish to paint. Great colors, mixable, can use a light coat or several to get thicker, deeper color. Very happy with purchase & product. Used it to paint a quilt. Great results.

Years ago I painted white cotton sheets with dye-na-flow and made them into a duvet. I loved it until it fell apart. These paints are really dye. Beautiful - hold the color - vibrant - easy. Like I said, the duvet wore out before the paint did. I washed it a zillion times. I've done many projects with them and now I'm going to try a group project - painting white cotton napkins for keepsakes. I water them down just a little for the watercolor effect but don't do any other special effects.

I've been painting silk scarves with these dyes and they work well. I only wish that the silk retained the vibrancy of the dye when I set it, instead it washes out and becomes more pastel. I have jacquard powdered dyes as well, which I can mix as strong as I would like, but sometimes its nice to just use premixed dyes with no hassle.
