This replaced the old one which started malfunctioning after nine years. It would randomly start a sprinkler even though the controller was in the off position. I took photos of the wire hookups on the old unit, so it was easy to install and now works properly.

While still under warranty, when my unit failed and would not factory reset after multiple attempts guided by their rep, they insisted I hire someone to come out and fix it at my expense. They have revised their program and will no longer repair these units. They tried every strategy imaginable to avoid honoring the warranty. After two hours on the phone they finally agreed to replace the unit but I will have to wait two weeks for the replacement unit to arrive. It was one of the worst customer experiences I have had in a very long time. I have three of these 12 station units but will go with another mfg in the future.

Works great. Last model lasted over 20 years Planning to get same results from this newer model. Very little variety from makers of this size automatic 11 settings.

My gardener installed this easily and quickly. The controls are easy for me to use with only one lesson. The system works flawlessly and is somewhat smaller than our former 30 year old same brand version. We have been using this for several months now and I have changed the minutes per station and used the manual turn on several times without any problems. I am very pleased.

This appears to be a durable product. Four of these controllers came with the Arizona house my parents purchased in the 1980s and I think they only had to replace one in all those years. I recently had to replace another controller that had been acting up ever since lightning struck a tree just a few feet away from it. The seller was extremely fast with standard shipping which was really appreciated by 2 acres of lawn in the middle of summer. I have no prior experience with irrigation systems, but was able to figure out how to operate these controllers by reading the instructions. I had our landscaper install the new controller, however. He said it was easy to do and it took him less than an hour. He took a photo of the wiring on the old box with his cell phone, so he could put things back together quickly and correctly. He also agreed that these controllers are durable and easy to use.

We had an 11-year old one that stopped working recently, so we had to replace it. The new one works fine. The only thing that disappointed us is that the product uses exactly same model name "RD-1200" so we thought it would have same interface as the old one, thus we only need to remove the old timer part and then install the new timer part, because it has too many wire connections. This is not true. The new model has two extra connections, so the interface now has 10 pairs, rather than 8 pairs of pins. Therefore, I still had to reinstall the whole device and reconnect all wires. Anyway, it works now. The product should have a newer name (like RD1200+) to let customer know the difference.

Shipped as promised. Packaged neatly. Instructions included. Took the old one down installed this one. Works great. The outer box is improved from the previous one. This one has a hinge on the side instead of a plastic fold that broke over a short time, nice improvement.
