My main objection is the hole to drain the water is very small and is easily blocked by any little debris which allows for mosquito breeding. One gets what they pay for and this is only semi functional in a very light rain

We were having trouble with a gutter not draining and flowing over and in back of the gutter and spilling onto the driveway causing it to settle and crack. The rain chain is a great solution. However, I found when it rained or snow was melting at a good speed, water was going in all directions off of the dragonfly tails. I simply tucked them around the chain and the water went all the way down without splattering everywhere. To install, I used my electric drill with a 1 inch hole saw attachment to drill a hole in the bottom of my gutter where the water was not draining. I used a zip tie to attach the chain to one of the braces that helps hold the gutter to the eves. At the bottom, I used a funnel and fire hose zip tied to the bottom to carry the water across the driveway to the side of the house for natural drainage. I can drive over the fire hose when I back out of the garage and not have to move a large landscaping drainage tube. Seems to be working so far and it is beautiful.

We needed to get rid of the unsightly plastic tubes because they interfered with our sidewalk. These work perfectly! We placed a diverter tray on the ground to direct the water away from the house and these rain chains did the rest! We love them!

I have this rain chain as a gift. Color is nice. The recipients loved it and it appears to be solidly built. Hopefully when they install it they will have no issues.
