The basket itself is pretty well made, and is fairly sturdy. As designed, it can be used over a cabinet door or mounted to the wall (or set down on a surface). It is tall for its size, so it is good for holding bottles (shampoo, bodywash, cleaning chemicals, etc).Unfortunately, the tubes that attach the hooks to the body of the basket are not attached very well, and one of mine fell off after only a short use. I do not think it will support any kind of weight for very long.

Seeing the online ad for the set of 2 iDesign Classico Steel Wire Over-The-Cabinet Door Hanging Storage Baskets gave me hopes of having frequently used items in the kitchen and bathroom cabinets more accessible to reach as the baskets would be higher and upfront. At 75, bending over and reaching have become issues, so I look for little hacks to make my life easier.Each iDesign Classico Steel Wire Over-The-Cabinet Door Hanging Storage Basket—5.2" x 11.4" x 13.4", in Chrome—is well-made, although the bottom grid doesn't have uniform-sized squares, which irritates my OCD.I have two questions:Why are there two little chains on each basket?The second question:Can the baskets only be configured two ways?If hung over the door, the basket drops way down the door.If I use the screws to secure the baskets, I can mount the baskets where I want, but I'm not ready to deface my custom-made cabinets. I'm sure renters would get penalized for defacing their cabinets.If the hanging rods were made from threaded stock, they could be cut to the proper length.I will take these racks to my hometown hardware store and ask for some help. Small rubber o-rings can be placed on the rod, and the o-rings will stop the rods from sliding, or a few drops of epoxy may solve my issue.Full Disclosure: I received this product for free from the Vine program. This overhanging basket has a clean, simple design and could be useful for many as a storage and organizational tool. However, it didn't work for me for a couple of reasons.First, although the brackets at the top of the rods that attach to the basket are quite thin and fit well over the cabinet door, they were just thick enough in my case to interfere with the door's operation. This made it difficult to open and close the door due to the increased friction. I was also concerned that the pressure from the brackets would eventually damage the wood over time. They did pad the underside of the brackets with a thin foam material, however, to provide some degree of cushioning.Additionally, it is impossible to adjust the distance that the basket hangs from the top of the bracket. The top of the basket will always be 7 1/4 inches from the bracket, which may not work if you have shelves or other obstacles in the way when attempting to close the cupboard door. It would have been very helpful if this distance were adjustable, as it would make the product much more versatile and useful.To state the obvious, using this basket doesn't create additional space inside the cabinet. The volume of the basket needs to be taken into account as it displaces whatever is in its way once the door is closed.The hanging bracket rods can be removed, and screws are included for attaching the basket to a surface that way. However, it seems to me that this defeats the primary purpose of the product, which is to provide a versatile and easily movable storage solution.

I like the size of this hanging chrome basket. It's well made and works as it should. I am unable to use it on my kitchen cabinets due to the design of how my old farmhouse cabinets close (flush). However, I can use it in my laundry room to gather my items at my utility sink.
