Unless you work on computer CPUs regularly, this is probably not something that you will need. But, when you need it you REALLY need it. This is a great value Thermal Heatsink Paste. It come in a good-sized container and is ready to go. It is a good thing I got it, otherwise my rather expensive computer might have been a goner.

this is one of those things that you may not be aware of what your ordering.it comes in a jar, and you're expected to apply the paste with a tool. a plastic spudger is included but its basically just there to say its included. it aint great. but you save money and have tons of remaining paste for tons of additional projects.none of that is the issue.the issue is, no matter what...NO MATTER WHAT...NO.. MATTER. WHAT. you cannot open this, close it, use it without getting paste on your hands. theres something about the jar and the material that makes me regret buying it, every single time i need it. i refuse to even look in it direction without gloves on. and i already know, it wont matter, i am going to get paste on the gloves, and on the project and on the counter and on my clothes. the only what to beat this, is to put on disposable (or washable) gloves, get out the jar...open it, throw away the gloves (or into the hamper) and put ona fresh pair. then wipe the jar of the fresh paste you just smeared on the outside of the jar..because it'll be there. then after wiping it clean, throw away that pair of gloves. fresh pair.go get a clean applicator (popsicle sticks are disposable and cheap) apply, new gloves etc etc etc etc etcits maddening. but it works.

This thermal paste is great if you have large areas to cover. Its a fraction of the price per gram than other options, but has quite good conductivity, much better than the typical cheap white goop. I used it for a thermal interface between large LED panels and their heatsinks, the factory barely put any compound on which was causing the LED boards to get to over 100c. After thermal compound the entire board and heatsink was sitting at about 43c once the temperature stabilised after an hour or so.For the price, this thermal paste is a fantastic deal, I'm very pleased with it.
