The boresnake not includes a T-handle for easier pull through of your firearm and a reusable carrying case that you can keep in your range bag or backpack to protect your boresnake during transport. A one pass solution, boresnake uses an integrated bronze brush to scrub out carbon fouling, while the tail clears the barrel of loose debris with a surface area 160x larger than a standard patch. These boresnakes make cleaning so much easier than the old ram rod way. They do a great job

I have these for ever caliber that I own. They work great for cleaning all of my handguns and rifles. Quality brand that lasts and the handle built into the lid of the storage box works great.

I use these bore snakes for my shotgun and rifle. They work great. You can do quick cleaning with them or use them as a final wipe. I've progressed over the years. I now clean the barrel with #9 on a mop, wire brush, cloth wipes and then pull the snake through for a final wipe with lubricating oil. It works great.

I like the fact that the boresnake is compact and easy to use. It is easier and less expensive (and more compact) to buy a boresnake to clean a new gun than it is to buy a kit that covers a wide variety of calibers. I think the boresnake does a good job, but I still follow up with a cleaning patch. This removes a decent amount of dirty oil from the barrel. The bore snake plus the generic cleaning patch together do a great job, but I wouldn't say the boresnake is the all-in-one "give it one pass and it's clean as a whistle" kind of tool that the internet makes it out to be. It takes a few passes and a couple of patches, but it does produce good results.
