Heating company tried to quote me $17K for a new furnace. Installed this direct replacement Aquastat in 20 minutes and works great.

Though the size not fit to my Honeywell old furnish. All of the power connections and signal connections are works fine, same as my old relay box, there is third zone for me to use in my 2 zone system.

First one ordered did not work. Even after the burner circuit was set for 24 VAC, it would not work. When it was bumped, it would work, so there must be a loose wire or connection. Not reliable for normal use. Hats off for Amazon's quick replacement, but I did not want to go through a another tedious installation to see if the replacement was NG, so I bench tested the replacement. After setting the burner circuit for 24 VAC and since the room temperature was much lower than the sensor would need to work, connecting it to power and closing the thermostat to simulate a call for heat, and using a VOM to test the connections - it worked! 120 VAC for the circulation pump, and 24AV for the burner! All without having to deal with the silver sensor glop.

Honeywell Aquastat arrived DOA! One of the terminal screws was jammed in sideway. I could not unscrew it with a flat head or phillips power screw driver.Obviously a manufacturing defect. Will try one more time then switch over to a competitor.Luckily I checked it out before installing it. Replacing a L8148E1273.

This part was defective and stopped working after less than 4 hours. These Honeywell aquastats are just the worst pieces of junk. I have 3 boilers and these are on all of them. We've replaced 2 twice. When they stop working you can look at the back of the circuit board and see the quality of the welds--bad. I know some people have had success re-welding, but the switches went bad on mine. Anyhow, if you can replace these with some other-- superior-- brand, do it.My plumber said it is very common for him to install one of these and have to come back less than a week later and change it out again.Incidentally, the return policy for these is great, which is the only thing that saves the product. I certainly hope the companies who carry Honeywell get reimbursed for all the junk they get stuck with...

Product was new in box and easily installed. I would pay particular attention to the thermostat setting as it arrived preset on a higher than suggested temperature and could damage some in floor installations at the higher temperatures. The installation instructions are clear and easy to follow. If you have a cam phone or iPad it is helpful to record all the wiring so that it goes back together correctly. My boiler pilot was repeatedly flaming out but I remedied that by wrapping the capillary tube from the pilot to the gas control with fiber glass insulation. The combustion air comes from an exterior supply and can get cold enough to extinguish the pilot. An easy fix.PSDon't overlook the little jumper in the plastic envelope that completes the connection from the thermostat. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS FOLKS!!! It joins the two horizontal bottom screws at the bottom of the thermostat terminals. It will not function without this jumper!!!
