We bought this scooter and used it for the first few months we owned it, and it worked great. It was a smooth ride with no problems whatsoever. We always put it away for the winter because the roads get too icy to ride on. The first winter passed and we used it in the following warm weather. We weren't rough with it, and didn't use it to do tricks or stunts. We charged it often and cleaned it and just generally took good care of it. We put it away for the following winter but when we pulled it out just recently, it wouldn't turn on. Thinking it was on low battery we charged it and tried again after a full night of charging. Again it wouldn't turn on, except for a brief flash on the screen and the usual start up beep. It only does this after we plug it in for a second, unplug it, and press the button once. Then flash, beep, off, and it won't turn on unless we plug it in again. when we plug it in again we get the same results. I had a family mechanic look at it and we couldn't find anything wrong with it at all. We took off the front screen and the bottom cover and all the wires were intact and at the correct, listed, voltages. We tested the battery and it had full charge and correct voltage. We even unattached the handlebars and tested the wiring in there. Again everything seemed to be in perfect order. The scooter simply didn't work. We tried the suggested reset method of pressing the break, throttle, and power button for 5 seconds. Still nothing. Our scooter seems to be in perfect working order, except for the fact that it doesn't turn on. We were very disappointed (to say the very least) that it had suddenly broken right after the warranty expired. It was quite an expensive piece of scrap metal.

Rider Stats - My son is 52" tall, weighs 50 lbs, and just turned 7yrs old. He has been riding regular RAZOR style scooters for awhile and can ride a bike VERY well.We wanted to get him a scooter for his 7th birthday. Scooter #1 - Razor E100 Glow....felt cheap, slow, and wouldn't hold his interest in the long run (returned). Scooter #2 - Segway Ninebot eKickScooter ZING E10 - REALLY wanted to like this scooter but WOW was it slow and under powered (100w motor)(Returned) Scooter #3 - Highboy S2 LITE - WE HAVE A WINNER!!!* Power - This thing does a reliable 13mph with him on it and accelerates him like a beast (Sport Mode).* Fit - The handle bars are a perfect height for him with room to grow, the scooter is lite enough for him to move it around with ease, and it appears to fit him like a glove.* Performance - We done 5 miles up.down.left.right and this thing GOES.....It feels solid, he said he feels confident on it (braking/accelerating)* Cool Factor - The lights are AWESOME! The headlight is BRIGHT...we did a night ride and it really lights up the road. The brake light flashes when you hit the brake and remains lit the rest of the time. The under body lights are blue and really light up the ground...couple that with the front stem light and wow! We heard a few walkers comment in our passing about how cool the lights are AND increases safety while it gets dark early! We really like this scooter and so do his friends! 2 other parents have ordered a scoot based on trying ours. I can't speak to longevity so only time will tell with that. I considered the 2yr warranty from Square trade but it doesn't cover battery which I believe IS replaceable in this model (Hidden plus - $80 new battery)Get out and Scoot!
