The fire blanket itself is an excellent product that should be in every kitchen, particularly those where frying is used frequently. My problem is with the company, Prepared Hero. The fire blanket arrives folded into an envelope depicting the flag of the United States on both sides. According to the US Department of Defense, "The flag should not be used for advertising purposes." The prohibition against advertising no doubt includes using the flag as a pocket. This casual disrespect leaves the consumer with a problem: how to dispose of this unwanted container without further denigrating the flag?
