It all started in 1877 when sea captain Helly Juell Hansen found a better way to stay protected from the harsh Norwegian elements. Soon thereafter, Captain Hansen and his wife Margrethe launched a business producing waterproof oilskin jackets, trousers, sou’westers and tarpaulins made from coarse linen soaked in linseed oil – and the legend was born!

It’s not true to size fitting…. I sometimes can wear a 3x , but a 5x felt like a 2x. It was nowhere close to fitting me…. Was very disappointed!

Great jacket - like that it comes with zippered pockets order a larger size - sizes are off.

I recently purchased this jacket and it is amazing. I would have given the coat 5 stars but I have to get rid of 1 star only because of the size problem I have. The sizes are most definitely smaller than what they seem, so you will want to get a few sizes bigger than what you would think. I wear 1XL and I ordered the 4XL and it fits really well besides the shoulders are a little tight. Very great product otherwise. The rain just beads and you can easily wipe them off.
