This makes sawing firewood so much easier and faster.

For a work aide, you'd think this would have been better designed. It's not, it's garbage; flimsy, unstable and probably places you at greater risk than cutting the wood on the ground.

This was a Christmas gift for someone. They opened it on Christmas Day. Today they had the opportunity to open the box and put it together. And here is their feedback regarding assembly. 1)the video on Amazon for the product page DOESN'T have voice instructions, just a short 2+ minute video that shows assembly to be very easy. IT'S NOT EASY! 2) because there are no printed instructions, you have to figure everything on your own. 3) if the seller would put voice to their instruction video, that might help a little, 4) if the seller would include in the box with the product complete written assembly instructions that would be helpful. 5) Once the metal wood cutting stand is all put together properly, it is a pretty nice stand. BUT, in order to collapse the stand to move or store it, you have to loosen the bolts and nuts in the middle of the stand for portability. THIS DEFEATS THE PURCHASE OF BEING PORTABLE! Now you then have to retighten the bolts and nuts in the middle of the stand in order to use it.A note to the seller/maker: please offer proper assembly instructions to customers. And improve the metal wood cutting stand so that when it needs to be moved, that the bolts and nuts don't have to be loosened. Thank you.

As others have stated, this did not come with assembly instructions (or the gloves pictured) but it did come with a picture that provided some cryptic clues as to which bolts and nuts went where. I was able to get mine assembled without too much trouble, though I was fortunate to have some done some pre-planning and made some lucky guesses. Tools needed: Phillips screwdriver, 13mm (or ½ inch) open end wrench, 14mm (or 9/16 inch) open end wrench, 10mm open end wrench (no SAE equivalent). There are (4) large (8mm) bolts with locknuts. These go into the top hole and are used to bolt the 2 leg halves together. Make sure the nylon insert faces out. These should be tightened to allow the leg halves to pivot but not swing freely. The slot below this uses (4) m6x12. Go through all the nuts for these bolts-you will find that 4 of them are locknuts. They are a little fatter and have the nylon insert. Tighten to allow the leg halves to fold. Watch the video that show assembling the leg supports. It’s a good start, but not complete. Make sure when you get to the end leg that you use the longer m6 bolt (25mm) to bolt through both braces. Note that the longer diagonal braces are installed so that the highest hole used is on opposite end legs-look at the picture on the “instruction” sheet. In the video, the installer is shown putting the washer under the bolt head. I believe that washer should go under the nut and there aren’t enough to put them in both places. Just snug everything until you have all the bolts/nuts installed and then go back and tighten them securely. I haven’t tried it out yet, but I can assure you there’s no way I’ll ever be lifting a 220 lb log onto it. One star deduction for deficient assembly instructions.

Would be easier to assemble had we watched the video, directions in box are sketchy. We did figure out the assembly and the product worked well for what it was intended. There were no gloves in the box so we used our own.

Not real sturdy, but it is adequate and will hold the logs I cut. I would recommend an 18inch bar chain saw or larger as the uprights get in the way with shorter bars. It doesn't fold flat, but does reduce somewhat.

This sawbuck is a different version than the prior one. It has no firm adjustment only screws and is bulkier and heavier. The pieces are machined so rough that they give you cotton gloves (which you need!) to assemble it without cutting yourself. It didn't have the right amount of screws needed to assemble it properly either. A huge pain to assemble and use. Trips to the hardware store is NOT what I paid too much for this thing for. It will hold a log though so there's that but I wish I had gone a different route.

Was going to make my own, but when I saw these and price I couldn't waste my time. I have used twice now, support the logs I'm resizing to split. Makes it easier than bending over to ground level. Just make sure you watch video on assembly and stop to look at the details of screw locations. You may have to ream bolt holes out a bit with 1/4" bit for diagonal brace on each leg. Still a great stand for good price.
