Headsweats Shorty Beanie. Inspired by the look of the CoolMax Classic, we developed our CoolMax Shorty to fit like a beanie but with the addition of our CoolMax terry sweatband and a stubby CoolMax Tail. A small section of elastic is included on the inside of the shorty to enhance fit. The shorty is easy to put on and comes off with one hand.

I purchased two of these a few years ago and still use the same one today. If you sweat a lot (hyperhidrosis) then this is a must have. I wear in on it's own or comfortably under my hard hat when on a job site and even under my ski helmet. They are usually advertised as a bike helmet liner. It really does work. The first time I used it I was on a job in south east Texas. It was over 100 F and almost 100% RH. I don't recall what the humidex was other then it was some crazy number like 160 F. It worked great, for the first hour before it was saturated. It wrings out easy and dried completely over lunch. The main thing it does is keep the sweat out of your eyes and to a certain degree help keep safety goggles from fogging up. The tail on the back is great because that is were the sweat is directed too and it will drip off of that.

I have had one of the older headsweats shorty beanies that has the white terrycloth inner band. It has worked really well to keep the sweat out of my eyes when I ride in the mountains in the summer. I wanted to have a spare so I bought a new one. It's design is even better. Has an elastic in the back that helps it fit well for most any head size. The top is now less dense material than my previous model, so it is a bit cooler. Yet it still keeps the sweat out of my eyes and helps evaporate the sweat on those hot days. I think this is an excellent product.

Been wearing these things for years - like 20 years - including this brand, which is one of my favorites. I have noticed that the size varies - sometimes it is a bit tight, sometimes right on, and one time it was really loose, but I think that one was meant to go over the tops of the ears, maybe. I have a small head, around 56cm/22in, so if you have a bigger head these might feel tight, but this recent one is one of the looser more comfy ones I have received. I do get a line on my forehead after wearing them, which lasts for about an hour, maybe, tops. I get this with all of them, pretty much, except the real loose ones. The problem of snugness seems to be pretty universal with these nylon skull caps - and I have probably 5 or 6 different brands, at least, that I have tried (many of those offered on Amazon). The Shorty has a terrycloth patch on the band over the forehead, which is quite comfy, and may offer some improved sweat blocking, but to be honest, the ones I have that lack this seem to work fine for me, including on long sweaty runs in heat and humidity. Btw, I use these all the time for all sorts of things - running, biking (under a helmet), marshall arts training, at the gym, and just walking/riding around town with the family. I took one star off, not for quality, but because the sizing varies more then it should - but this is over many years, several purchases, from, probably, various sellers.

I'm a bald dude, and was needing to protect my head from the sun and others from glare for a marathon in the sun and heat of Barcelona. My worry was that suncream would end up in my eyes, a cap would leave a burn spot at the back where the strap usually is, or wearing nothing would burn my head. So I saw a few bald folk speak highly of these on forums.I was a bit self conscious at first, as in Glasgow, wearing something like this can come with a lot of stick. But then I remembered it's not a fashion show, and quickly.got over that.I wore it a few times in training and it seemed to do the trick, although I was not dealing with much sweat in the colder weather. The real test was at the marathon. I must say, it did exactly what I had hoped for.The sweat band must do a great job, because I had no sweat in my eyes at all, and still a pale, unburnt head. The best thing I can say is that I forgot I was wearing it, it is that comfortable.Would highly recommend for any bald folk wanting to protect their head from the sun.

I have worn this beanie on my bald head religiously (figurative, as I don't know any religions that call for blue beanies!) since I received it. My first long ride with it was a 180-mile ride (yes, 180 miles in 1 day) in approximately 80-degree weather. Even with little wind, I never felt too hot wearing it. It protected my head nicely from the sun, as I had hoped, and it served the secondary purpose of keeping sweat out of my eyes. Since then, I have worn it a lot and washed it several times. It holds up great through the wash, and it looks and fits just like the day that I got it. I do not dry it in the dryer. I air dry it. Buy one and enjoy!

This is the best sweat type band that I have ever had & I have been cycling since 1984! I though my Gutr was good but when my helmet sponges got loaded up with sweat in front the sweat would miss the Gutr & hit my glasses, but with the Headsweats Beanie the sweat stays in the beanie & wicks toward the tail in the back & I never get sweat on my glasses any more. I just used this on a 54 mile ride last Saturday in So Cal where it got up to 94', yes 94' on March 14, 2015 & not one drop of sweat got on my glasses or in my eyes. I just ordered two more one extra for myself & one as a gift for my cycling friend. The sweat band within the beanie is 1" wide all the way around to the tail in the back that helps pull the mouisture to the rear. This weekend I am going to try it under my snow ski helmet at Mammoth because of the warm spring like conditions.

I've used Headsweats products for several years and have been very happy with them. Their Coolmax material wicks moisture very well and dries quickly, especially with the airflow generated while cycling. I ride in Texas heat and sweat profusely but this product keeps it out of my eyes which is exactly what it is supposed to do. This is the first shorty I have used and the fit and function are perfect for me. All of my previous Headseats tie in the back. The shorty just slips on, no tying required. My cycling buddy says he's tried the shorty but it was a bit too small for his noggin. Other reviewers have noted this as well (the size of the product, not my buddy's noggin). If you are unsure of the fit, ask friends or family members if they think you have a big head. I'm sure they'll be happy to render an opinion. ;o) Alternatively, you could just go with the tie version which will definitely fit larger riders.

I've been using Headsweats for 12 years.I first used it when riding my bicycle across the USA in 2000. I had two problems that I was trying to address:- I was getting sunburned through the holes in my bike helmet, and- I was getting tired of having sweat drip into my eyesA web search found the Headsweats folks. I called up the owner in Cincinnati and his product seemed like exactly what I needed. I immediately ordered three of them and had them shipped to me mid-tour. I was absolutely delighted by the performance of these things. Ever since, I've had no problem whatsoever with either of the above issues. The Cool-Max sweatband built into the thing is quite effective in absorbing sweat. While I originally used the "classic" version, I've since upgraded to the "shorty" version. The classic version sort of had an open back with three floppy pieces that were intended to be tied at the back of your head. That felt uncomfortable inside my helmet -- so I never tied them. The problem with the classic version was that when you take the helmet off, the untied floppy things would flop around in the wind -- sometimes flopping over my head and onto my face -- awkward. The shorty version fixes that drawback, while keeping the same high performance of the original.I LOVE my Headsweats!
