These shoes arrived looking good and were comfortable for my son. He does tend to wear the same shoes every day, but these lasted about 6 months before the soles started to separate. They were good while they lasted, but I was really hoping they would last a little longer.

Purchased these shoes for my 7 year old on November 25th. Shoes seemed to be sturdy. Son loved their appearance. Fit great. He was very happy. Here we are on December 11th and one toe guard area is already coming off and so is the sole of the shoe. Second toe guard is starting to come unglued and shoe is showing significant wear in one area. I know kids are hard on things, but I would expect more than a few weeks out of a pair of shoes. This is beyond what I would expect to see from normal wear and tear in a time period of less than a month.

These shoes fit my son well and he says they are comfortable. So far, they are waterproof. He has been able to walk through wet grass and small puddles and his shoes have gotten wet, but his socks have stayed dry. The only reason I'm giving these a 4 instead of a 5 is that they don't allow for the feet to breathe. My son's feet stink pretty badly after being in them for the day. I have sprayed the shoes several times to help with the odor, but it's pretty bad. Maybe this is the tradeoff for waterproof shoes? Overall though, I'm happy with the purchase.

The velcro on the shoes became loose binding within a month of wearing the shoes. We tried to be very gentle with the velcro but at 3 months old it has completely failed. Without the the velcro, the shoes are unwearable. Otherwise the shoes seem to be of good quality and my kid really liked them. Maybe I can get some velcro and do some creative sewing.Edit: The manufacturer quickly contacted me and offered to replace the shoes. They apologized, showing that they stand behind their product. Great customer service on Hawkwell's part.

This is a great hiking shoe for my 7 year old! We hike quite a lot as a family and this pair is very sturdy holding up to her running on the trail. But it is also comfortable enough she likes to wear them as an everyday shoe as well. Fits based on the sizing chart!

My kid went on a field trip and came back with the shoes all soaking wet. Very disappointed. It was the main reason why I bought them to keep my kids feet dry.

I have now purchased two pair of these shoes for my very active nearly 9 year old son. He wore the first pair for nearly a year before I purchased the second. He still wears his old pair to play outside and get dirty. I purchased them a little large because I wanted to get maximum use out of them. He is extremely picky when it comes to how shoes feel on his feet and I didn't have a problem with either of these pairs. They are light weight but constructed well. I will be sad when I can no longer buy these for him as they have been such a great buy.
