I ordered these because I'm working on a car restoration and expect to do a lot of sanding/grinding as I go through the project. These are great because the roll lock fasteners make changeovers super fast and easy. The 40 grit discs should power through some of my rough welds and the 3" size will allow me to grind down some of the smaller areas I can't reach with my angle grinder. So far the build quality on these seems great, the grit lasting a good amount of time before wearing down. This is a pretty good price, too.

These sanding discs are semi-stiff. They're more stiff than a piece of sandpaper, sort of like what you'd find on a sanding belt for a belt sander. They attach with an R-type connector, so you're going to need that to use these. They screw on to the mandrel, and the backing supports disc as you apply pressure. They work well, and because they're only 3", can often get into places larger sanding tools can not. An inline (i.e. straight) die grinder is a little difficult to control with these, so I prefer a right angle die grinder. They last a decent amount of time, and keep in mind that there are no dust holes, but that's normal for die grinder attachments. In other words, this really isn't intended as a woodworking tool, though you certainly can. I like these, and would get them again.
