It feels comfortable, I had the sand the finger holes to get it to fit. They do protect your hands from callouses but there is no dowel (makes sense provided the age range these are intended for). They don't necessarily provide any grip or mechanical advantage though.

My daughter isn’t supposed to have dowel grips yet, and her team uses starter grips. She saw a teammate with these and wanted to try them. She likes them because they are different from some of the other palm grips - they are thinner and work better for her. Nice kit with wrist bands and grip bag. Quality is nice for price.
