It comes with US plug (120V; 60Hz; 1.4A or 168W). It needs step down converter (220V to 110V) to work in New Zealand. Adaptor doesn't convert the voltage.

It opens cans with ease, but you have to clean debris off of the blade and metal wheel below it to make it work easily. I had a few problems with getting the blade to dig into a can to get it to start the can opening process.. I'm very happy otherwise with it. The cans open quickly and the magnet will catch the lid after it opens but you have to make sure the blade on the can opener is clean to make sure everything works well. You have to glide the can off the magnet to get the lid to come off. It's fairly easy and quiet sounding can opener. I like the rubber jar opener on top of the can opener it open jar tops the same size as it with ease; especially, if you have arthritis it really helps. I also like the bottle opener that sits on the bottom of the can opener in a neat little location hidden away. Just pull it out and voila there it is. I just love these onboard attachments, that's why I got it. My other can opener I had that looked just like it died after having it for 7 years or so, it was just the part where the magnet is that broke on it. I'm even able to still use that one if I needed to have an extra one on hand in case something happens to this one in case of an emergency. The motor on my old one still works. This can opener is very durable and reliable as long as you clean the blade and the metal wheel after every use. I've had other can openers in the past that never worked as well as this one and they stopped literally working after a year or 2 time period and they never worked as well as this one. I highly recommend this multi functional product to everyone.

Product: "OPENING STATION"MODEL: 76389RSERIES: D1912DYKPURCHASED: JAN 24, 2022 FIRST USE: JAN. 26, 2022Here is our step by step Customer Experience with Hamilton Beach.1. On 4/4/22, after 9 wks. and 5 days, with less than a dozen uses, a small plastic appendage broke off the Cutting Assembly Lever. This piece makes contact with the power button to initiate opening a metal can. Checked on our Amazon account, but the Return Window had closed in late February.2. On 4/5/22 I called the Hamilton Beach Customer Service 800#. Only option offered there was to email them, couldn't talk to anyone, and the automated voice menu did not say what the email address was. Our Product Information Sheet did not include that info either. Found their 'commercial appliance' address and sent an email there in hopes of at least finding out who to contact.3. On 4/6/22, H. B. customer service rep 'Jennifer' responded, and advised me I had reached their commercial equipment division, and needed to reach out to the Retail/Household HB product support at: customer.service@hamiltonbeach.comSent that email on 4/6, but haven't heard from them yet.4. On 4/11/22, decided to try to at least find a replacement part using HB's Product Support web page. Guess what? OUT OF STOCK, NO LONGER AVAILABLE.Will update this review once a final determination has been made. We hope HB is just short staffed, and slow to respond, but right now, as far as we can see, there is NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT at Hamilton Beach.04/21/22 UPDATE: Finally found a responsive customer service email address for Hamilton Beach. They responded next day, requested further info. Once I sent the info, it was just a couple days later I received an email confirming the product was covered under warranty, and would be replaced. They also covered the shipping for that replacement product, which arrived today. Hope for better experience with this multifunction unit. Thanks to Hamilton Beach for sticking by their warranty information, and very good customer service/support!05/23/22 FINAL UPDATE: The identical replacement product Hamilton Beach sent to us works like a champ! Apparently there was an issue with first unit, which sounded like it was under a heavy strain while opening any size can. This unit continues to excel in getting the job done. Very satisfied!

I broke my arm and couldn’t open cans. Bought this based on reviews and they are not wrong! This is super convenient and easy to use and the little extras like the rubber jar opener are invaluable to me. My mom bought one after I told her about it and she loves hers too!

My 110lb dog accidentally ran into me while chasing my other dog and knocked me completely off my feet, causing my 116lb body to land on my right side. I didn't know it at the time, but landing on your arm in an outstretched position can tear the ulnar collateral ligament (UCL), much like a sports injury from repeatedly throwing a ball. Just imagine a really bad blood draw where they have to stick the needle in your arm 5-6 times and dig around a bit before they finally find the vein. Then imagine that pain 24/7. Anyway, using a manual can opener, which I've used my entire 68 years with no proble, became excruciating because of the UCL tear. So, after much research and reading reviews, I decided on this can opener. And I love it! It's easy to attach the can; bigger cans need a bit of support, but how difficult is that? The magnet that is supposed to hold the detached lid as you remove the can doesn't really work, but all I care about is opening a can without pain! It doesn't leave smooth edges, so you just have to be cautious when/if you clean the cans before tossing in the trash. I use a bottle brush, they're cheap and prevent injuries. It has a small footprint if you plan on leaving it on the counter. I read people weren't real happy about the plastic lever, but if you're not rough with things, it shouldn't be an issue. I use the opener probably every other day, and so far I have had no problems. I don't think it's particularly loud; it's a can opener, not a radio that you plan on leaving on for a few hours. I am really glad I purchased this can opener, I think it works great.
