I frequently buy stuff from Amazon Warehouse, refurbished, open box, etc products - I usually buy the like new options - they all work the same as new, but for a discounted price. The box was quite damaged on this one, but the griddle was perfectly protected while packed inside. It even had the gift receipt from Christmas in the box & the grease drawer was still taped in place, so I know the other person who got this box delivered never used it. I did request Amazon packaging because I was buying a damaged box item.I just can't seem to make pancakes on a stovetop without exact temperature controls & I can make them easily on an electric griddle. I was looking for a griddle that was like the one I had - I bought it in 2012 & it got scratched earlier this year so the nonstick coating started to bubble up. I frequently make pancakes & French Toast, so I started looking for a new one. I was able to find this updated version - it's pretty much exactly the same except for the copper colored ceramic cooking surface. I was able to get it at an even better price on Prime Day!I definitely recommend getting an electric griddle that has actual temperature settings & not just the 1-4 or whatever the non-temperature settings are. I was surprised as to how slippery the ceramic surface is! I didn't have to use any type of oil or do anything to prep other than wash with warm soapy water & dry completely. It will take me a few batches of pancakes to get used to it since my old griddle wasn't as slick. I did notice that the temperature control seems to run a little high on the new one - burnt one pancake right in front of the thermometer probe, so I turned it down 25° & it's good at that temperature. I can see the outline of the heat element through the ceramic surface, but I could tell where it was on the nonstick coating too. No complaints! Hopefully this one will last as long as the old one did!

Ease-of-use it cleans up like a dream. Good value for your money. Enjoy the size it’s not too big not too small.

I will point out the only good thing about this griddle... it works! Is it non-stick? Not even close! Eggs and pancakes will stick to this surface. And it leaves behind a mess to clean up. Just try turning over an egg that is stuck to it once, and you will know what I mean.Is the temperature control as bad as others say? Yes, and worse! 275 is 275, on the left side of the griddle. But it's closer to 325 on the right side. And that's after warming up for 10 minutes! It's also too big! Normally that's not a problem. Sure you can cook 12 pieces of bacon at once, but just try to find room to fit this in any cabinets in an average house. It won't work.I wish I could find more good things to say about this, but I cannot. I just miss my old Teflon griddle I had about 8 years ago. That one was perfect. Alas, they do wear out, and this one isn't even really worth calling it a replacement. It's merely something I can use until I find something better.UPDATE: It's been a little over two months now. Never have I regretted a purchase more than this! Now part of the "non-stick" surface is starting to chip off. And, no it's not copper! Don't believe any of the uninformed people that have posted reviews. It is a ceramic surface that is copper-colored. And it simply doesn't work. I wish that I'd kept the box as I would have shipped it back. But I had no idea it was going to be this bad!UPDATE #2: Finally gave up on this! After almost having to chisel the bacon and sausage grease from it this morning, I decided to send it on to the landfill. I'm going back to purchasing Presto products.

What a cool griddle. I know you wouldn't often call a griddle cool, but this one is.The ceramic cooking surface is smooth and easy to clean. It's very non-stick on its own and heats up evenly and very quickly. Because it's ceramic, I have some concern about breaking/chipping it, so I make sure to take care when cleaning it. Other than that, I don't worry about how it'll hold up through regular use. It's great. We have griddles in the kitchen at work which have the non-stick coating. Because of that, they get quickly scratched up and lose their non-stick properties. The ceramic surface on this griddle isn't nearly as easy to scratch the surface itself is fairly thick, so even if you did manage to scratch it, it shouldn't impact the performance. As an aside, the orange color is pretty cool too.

I bought two of these, one for my home and one for work. Both came in the same condition: new, clean, good box. The one I got for work, just blew up where the plug attaches to the griddle! In defense of the product itself, I had modified the plastic housing, and the machine runs at high temp for more than 12 hours at a time. Definitely not standard operating. The last griddle I got for work lasted two years, and was still working when I replaced it with this one for what I thought would be an upgrade. It lasted only about a month, unfortunately. The one I got for home though is still working great. It’s easy to clean, has a great cooking surface and I like that it has a whole edge to push off excess oil or food bits, instead of just a little hole like most electric griddles. I can definitely recommend this guy for home use.

Great grill but too big to put in dishwasher or fit in my sink so cleaning all the grease isn't easy. The temperature control is off by 75 degrees. Set to 375 will burn pancakes black. 300 is a good temperature. However I still give 5 stars because it is larger and a good non-stick surface that is easy to clean even with bacon and sausage. Would buy again.
