This was fairly easy to install, however we did position it to screw directly into the wall studs. The anchors that were included in the kit did not look very strong. Now it is mounted and holds the guitars without any problem. It took about 20 minutes at a slow and steady pace to get this mounted and set up perfectly. It is really strong and the guitars can hang sideways or facing front. I like having that choice for acoustic or electric guitars.

I was a little worried about if I would get enough wall stud traction for this mount to successfully hold five guitars, but it has held up wonderfully. It looks great. It's a nice way to showcase your guitars and also have them handy to grab and play. I have a floor rack for my cases, but it's nice to have the instrument at arm's reach. I would definitely suggest, and I hope to one day need another!

After building this, I’m not sure I trust it to hold up my guitars. Everything is very loose and rickety. The first thing I noticed is that the “wooden” back panel is actually metal. It’s a wood grain colored extruded aluminum. I trust that part to be strong, and it looks good. It snaps together with some flimsy plastic pieces, but once it’s on the wall, it will be very sturdy. However, the long cylindrical rods I got are either poorly designed or defective. The directions clearly show placing a nut on both sides during mounting, which is a strong design that is resistant to loosening, in which you tighten with counter rotating wrenches. However, the threaded end of the rods I received are only long enough to accommodate exactly one nut, not two! This came with two wrenches, and with plenty of nuts to use two on each rod, but they just won’t fit two. It also came with several washers, both standard washers and lock washers, neither of which will fit on the rods (the diameter is too small, and these are not shown in the directions anyway, so why are they included?).Because I can only mount with one nut on the rod, even if I tighten it like crazy, it slips easily, or will slip eventually over time. If this happens while a guitar is hanging on it, the guitar will probably stay balanced (I think, but I'm not sure) -- until the nut totally comes off the back, then the guitar will fall. I could try to super glue the nuts in place, I guess, but I shouldn’t have to. And maybe the nut won't fall off the back (not enough room to actually fall off), but I don't like the hangers spinning around. It just doesn't seem right.Because of only fitting a single nut, it was difficult to get the nut tightened in the correct orientation so the guitar hanger (the hook end) would actually be oriented correctly. Because I don’t trust these nuts to stay tight over time, I’m not sure if I'm going to actually use this. It might actually be ok, but I don't like how loose everything is everywhere, so I don't fully trust it.The more I think about it, the more I think it will probably (only probably) hold guitars just fine. But I really don't like how loose it is, so I'm only giving it 3 stars. If "loose" to you equates to "lots of adjustability" then maybe you'll like this.

I really wanted to attach this to my wall and hang my guitars from it. It came packaged well. And that's the end of the positives. The instructions are vague and truly impossible to nail down. There are supposed to be nuts on the ends of the extension arms both in front of and behind the metallic, sliding mounting brackets. But there isn't enough room on the end of the rods for two nuts. So, I figured maybe the front one should be a washer and the rear one a nut. But none of the washers supplied fit over the end of the threaded arm. Also, the actual neck holder moves back and forth on the arm with little provocation. I could hang this and just fasten the threaded arms with one nut. And I could just hope the neck holder won't work its way lose from the arm with use. But I simply can't trust this piece with my guitars. I have single wall holders that I trust completely, so it's not that I don't like hanging up my guitars. But this is just not something I'm willing to risk. And for goodness' sake, please have someone put the correct parts in the package and write a more coherent set of instructions.

I found this multiple guitar hanger to be of solid design and construction. I was surprised that the main slats were not wood rather an aluminum extrusion with a faux wood finish applied. It looks like a hydro-dip coating to me and I actually like the color and wood grain appearance of this, it looks very much like a mahogany of sorts. I installed this using the supplied hardware with no issues at all. It all functions well, the hangers are easy to slide from side to side and the pivoting fork section lets you adjust your instruments to any angle through 180 degrees. The hanger shafts are a steel weldment and are of heavy gauge enough to be trustworthy. This is at the level of modular racking system that you would find at a commercial location and it looks the part. Only one concern I have is that sometimes the plastic, rubber, neoprene, etc. materials used on hangers like this have a tenancy to stick to and even damage your guitars finish at the headstock where it makes contact with the hanging fork. I intend to add an extra layer of protection on my hanging forks by slipping some soft dress socks over them as an extra assurance that my finishes can't be affected by the plastic rubber compound. It's a good product for the money and I need to get another one. Measures 50.75" L. X 4.5" H.

product was of good quality, however the plates that the hooks go into are not drilled to match up to 16 inch on center. By not attaching to studs, the rack is not nearly as stable as it could have been. Just using drywall inserts did not make me confident enough to hang instruments . I have four banjos that weigh 45 pounds collectively. Too much weight in my opinion to hang on drywall inserts. The quality of the back plate was great. the hooks were of good quality as well. I ended up using slat board and attaching to wall studs.
