Nice and thick vellum, works with my inkjet printer with little smudging

While this is a quality vellum, it is NOT clear as advertised. It is a milky white which should be advertised as translucent, not clear.

Should have gone with a heavier weight - that's my fault. This isn't something I would want to use on a card, though.

I wanted a heavy, CLEAR, printable vellum. This is exceptionally clear, without the gray haze familiar with most vellum. And the regular vellum has its uses, however this vellum prints well with a Laser printer or an inkjet, pigment ink printer, such as an Epson, 2200 series (old). I print scanned images that I have created, and align the vellum printout over the painting element that I'm working on. (Works fine with watercolor or acrylic paints.) This allows me to see the affect of different colors over the master water color work before actually painting on the art work. This vellum is clear enough so that the color from the original shows through clearly, which doesn't work with regular semi-clear vellum. A note: This is much more important with watercolors, since on acrylic, if I don't like the result, I can just cover with white and paint that area again.

This vellum paper works great for designing tattoos. That's why i bought it. The thickness is perfect for the purpose. I believe the 17-pound one would have been too light and could posssibly break unintentionally while using the eraser. Anything above 24-pound would have been too thick for me. I have only been using a pencil on it and no problems there. Easy to use the eraser and the pencil right after on top of what you have just erased. It is translucid. You can see through, so you can trace what ever is underneat it. The color is on the grey side not white .The measures are 11" x 8.5" . If you push too hard on the paper with your pencil you will mark it like any other piece of paper. It is difficult or impossible to find this kind of paper at the store. I'm glad I can find anything on Amazon! Will buy it again if I need more.

It's hard to say what would give a paper a 5 star rating, but I would wager that it would need to be some bit of 'Wow!' factor in either the product, or the service related to getting the product. That having been said I give this paper a 5 as I love it, shipping was what was fast, and it has a good tooth to it. It should be noted that while it is inkjet printer compatible you will want to verify that that you are using a dye based inkjet printer, rather than pigment. The paper will not take properly to pigment based inks, but dye based inks look beautiful on this medium, and very much professional. Also check your printer compatibility, for use with translucent, heavy, or vellum, paper before purchasing. My HP Artisan 837 will not work properly, despite any amount of trying, with this paper. However my Canon Pixma iX6520 works flawlessly with it, and produces stunning results. It can also be trimmed in a Silhouette Cameo very well.*I have not tested this on a laser printer, and it does not feel as though it has the coating necessary to properly work with a laser printer. I would recommend using caution when testing this in a laser printer, especially before using it in a critical project.

I make my own greeting cards and the vellum really makes them look more special and professional. I use a laser printer and the artwork and wording comes out nice and crisp on the vellum. The marble white goes with any color cardstock I want to use; and since it is marbled, it gives the cards an even more interesting look. Sometimes I use the vellum on the front of the card and sometimes I use it on the inside of the card. Either way, they always look nice. I can even use glitter glue with the vellum. I receive more compliments on my cards since using the vellum. Purchasing the vellum through Amazon saves me at least 50% over purchasing it at the craft stores.

Started making my own cards several years ago. Usually the front of the card would be of a flower I had grown & my own photo of it, plus, whatever original text I could come with. They were nice. But then I up-graded to a nice photo printer....and.....got into the wonderful world of different kinds of paper. Soooo.....many options. But, being retired, had to keep it within budget. This makes a nice card without an outrageous price: Use textured cardstock in shades of white (so photos will still have nice quality) and use this translucent vellum paper as inside insert with text.Fancy fonts add so much. Explore the world of fonts, if you have not already done so.I know this paper is not recommended for use in inkjet printers. I only print on half of the page, with very FEW words and have not had a problem. Very few words. No problem.Use just a drop or two of clear tacky glue to keep insert in place, after creasing ---make sure it fits perfectly before gluing.Beautiful, classy results.

I used this vellum to create the layover for my sister's baby shower invitations. I saw these great invitations on Etsy that used customized language printed on Vellum over decorative paper. I decided to jump into the craft project myself to try it out. This vellum fit well into my Samsung jet printer. The invitations turned out great and the vellum looked perfect, my ink did not smear on the surface. My printer heats up the pages quite a bit when it prints. This vellum turned a bit "tacky" when heated. I found that if I ran more then 2 sheets at a time they would stick when going through the machine. Once the paper cooled back to room temperature the "tackiness" went away. I did not find this to be a big deal as I was printing a small number of pages. I'm not sure if that trait - stickiness when warm - is a normal for vellum. Plus it could be that my printer may just be a bit toastier then others. In any case, the end result looked professional and expensive.Nice product, arrived promptly.
