I have a 6x6 amphibious off road vehicle that uses 520 size chain to drive all the wheels. The body tube has a bad habit of collecting all sorts of nasty stuff from water to mud, sand and leaves. All these things are very rough on standard, non-O ring chains and will ruin them in short order if you don't clean them religiously. In the real world, most people don't have the time to keep them as clean as they need to be to have a long life. This "X" ring/O ring chain is a big step up as far as chains go. The rubber rings do a real good job of keeping the lubricant in and, the abrasive dirt and rust causing water out. Only time will tell just how much longer this type of chain will last but, I am positive it will outlast the original standard chain by quite a bit. And it will more than pay for itself considering the small price difference between the two.

When I pressed the pin out to adjust the length of the chain. It took almost no effort. Junk.
