I have an Acer Nitro AN515-53 and I use it as a laptop. As a laptop I am constantly moving it on and off my lap. The power port has started disconnecting from the cord internally and it has gotten worse and worse. At times I would come back to it and it would be off because the plug was not charging it while it sat on a shelf. The last straw was when I was sitting perfectly still with it on my lap and it would still disconnect and reconnect repeatedly.I quickly learned that this is a common problem with these computers and this is the correct replacement part to fix the issue. This part was completely plug and play and took 2 minutes to swap out. It has a port end that seats in molded plastic and the other end has 6 wires that connect to a plug that plugs right into a circuit board. No soldering or anything technical. It has a tab so it actually only plugs in one way. If you are comfortable swapping out a hard drive or other simple tasks this is a breeze.

My Acer laptop was having trouble maintaining a power connection. Any slight movement would cause the power to disconnect. I could tell it wasn't a problem with the power cable -- the port itself was loose, allowing the cable to wiggle inside the port. This was a quick and easy fix... just a few screws to remove the bottom of the laptop, and it was easy to swap out the old port for this one. No soldering or other advanced techniques required.Before you buy, I'd advise checking your power cable first. There's a six-pin and an eight-pin version of this port, depending on the exact model of laptop. Check to make sure your existing cable has six wires before ordering this one.

Tight fit for plug, tight fit for extender, whole process to take out the old battery port took 5 mins just trying to plug the white part is taking over 25 mins. extremely long too compared to legit acer battery port

For some reason my Nitro was really finicky about charging for awhile now. I had replaced the charge port before and it worked for about a week before being the same old thing. I would have to angle my plug pretty hard to get it to charge and constantly adjust it. I was using a guitar capo to hold the cable at odd angles just to get it to make contact.Finally had enough of it and ordered this and a new charger and it's insane how excited you can get about a laptop just charging how it should. It's plugged in and charging right now with no issue.

awesome... i was getting stressed out because my power cord wasn't working right, it would always be going in and out and i'd have to always be adjusting my power cord to keep the power on. i just finally switched it out with this one and now the power is staying on consistently. great price, thank you!!!! nitro 5 install is pretty easy, it's just a matter of unplugging the adapter and then i used super glue to glue this one where the other one was.
