Everything but the water pump works fine. The water pump is garbage though, spend the money on an aisin pump and get the gates kit without the pump, you'll have a much better time

El engrane polea que viene en El kit, tiene un defecto, una vez instalado y al empazar a girar Este, hacee contacto con la carcasa de la Bomba de agua,generando ruido y esgaste en la Bomba. Para solucionarlo, retire El engrane, utilize prensa, para posicionar El balero dentro del engrane a la altura correcta, usando como referencia El engrane original que SE retiro

Kit was an exact fit for our 2004 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport Wagon. The kit arrived quickly, undamaged, and packaged well. Everything pictured was there. Water pump & outlets matched perfectly. Kit has been installed since June 2019 with 220K miles, so far no leaks, slippage, or warning lights/codes. Runs like a tank and glad to keep it on the road & out of the scrap yard. Pics posted above are after install of water pump kit & new timing belt.Looking for parts for this chassis of Subaru was a little challenging at first(I'm new to Subaru cars). Being as after some years the Impreza and Outback became separate sub models. I highly recommend watching MrSubaru1387 videos on YouTube for parts install guidance among other videos. It helped a great deal. Would definitely buy this product again when needed.-Pat Y.

Ordered this thru Amazon prime, it arrived two days later.Make sure to look at your water pump outlets before ordering, the water pump in this kit only has one heater hose outlet which was correct for my application but may not be correct for yours.The last time I ordered a timing belt kit for my car I spent $50 more and bought the AC Delco kit.Turned out to be a Gates timing belt kit in an AC Delco box.

Amazing kit!!! All parts were the same parts that were on my car (original) only the belts were Gates, and great quality!!!!Will buy their kits again any timing belt I do!!

117117 miles on my bugeye. Time for a new timing belt. I had the Haynes manual for my car so that made it a bit easier. My dad and I just followed the steps in the book and everything went pretty smoothly. SOHC EJ25's are easy to do this on because you only have to line up 3 points on the belt. The water pump was an easy install. The new belt was pretty hard to get on because of how tight everything was, even with the new tensioner set to it loosest setting. After some elbow grease we got it on all the pulleys and sprockets. Everything lined up perfectly and we put everything back together and the engine started right up no problems. It even got rid of the check engine light I had. I didn't have time to go get the code from autozone but now it's gone. Quality product

This kit is complete, the parts are high quality, contrary to other posts I did not find the water pump to be of odd quality, it looked very precision, no leaks, rubber gaskets not paper as has been described. The instruction sheets in the box were blurry photocopies, but if you are just looking at how to do this job you should really not be doing it anyway. Get yourself a proper Suby shop manual and don't pay any mind to the box directions. For the $163 this kit costs plus my labor I saved about $600 over what I was quoted locally. Great parts.

Is a great reason to change your timing belt and tensioner. A leaking tensioner forced a very early timing belt job, and this is the kit I picked. It shipped fast, had a great price, and fit like a glove. The only additions i would suggest would be to replace the oil seals while your in there. It's kinda silly to have an oil leak because you didn't replace twentyish dollars worth of seals when it was easy to do so. Oh, and the water pump bolts torque to INCH pounds not foot pounds. If nothing else you can get an in/lb torque wrench at Harbor Freight for around $20.00, which is much cheaper than getting a thread repair job on an aluminum block.

Almost everything that came in the kit worked, but I did have two problems with it. The big problem that I had was a complete lack of a water pump gasket in the kit, which required a trip to my local Subaru parts department to pick up a new one. I also had to get a new water pump seal because the one that came with the kit was not quite the right size, which required another trip to the parts department. The replacement stuff was only $15 or so, but it still made the repair take three days instead of one due to the parts department hours. Aside from those two items, everything was mechanically sound and is working great a month later.

If you see a negative review for Gates timing kits, I would give ten to one odds that the reviewer bought the incorrect kit and/or isn't qualified to install one. They are comprehensive (except a few that don't include tensioners) and quality is good. I usually toss out the water pump gasket because it's paper, but after installing roughly 100 Gates kits on various cars in my shop, I can vouch that they are definitely worth buying.
