Seems heavy duty--/installed in a "mancave " traffic light way over head-- now can turn on and off with long bead chain--- should state diameter of mounting hole required on its package

Perfect replacement switch for an over head Harbor Freight brand LED shop light. The switch pull broke and the Gardner Bender GSW-35 was a perfect replacement. Easy to solder to the Harbor Freight wire assembly.

Switches can be activated in any direction. These are the ones to use on a fixture that you use often. They are pricey, but they will last a long time. Would not try to use them to replace ceiling fan switches. These are larger and would not fit anyway.

Industrial Grade! Gardner Bender GSW-35 Electrical Pull Chain Switch is a winner. I used this heavy duty pull chain switch to replace a cheap lamp switch in the shop running a 250W light above the welding table, works perfectly every time!

I had great hopes installing them in my cabin. The mechanism is exactly what i wanted. Sadly, the wires just get pushed in from the factory with the expectation that the paper-thin sheet metal clips will grip the copper wire. I literally had them fall out on the floor. AMazon replaced them but they were the same. ON ALL 7 that I bought. Nothing I did could make them stay in place, even larger wire. The two plastic case halves were heat-staked together so I had to drill out the stakes, take the thing apart, and solder the wires in place. Not something I recommend but I was desperate for light at the cabin. I def would not recommend them. They would be dangerous and could start a fire in your wall!!

After replacing a cheaper type of switch twice, I figured I'd give this one a try. What I bought was the simple on and off model pull switch, which is hooked up to the 4 light fixtures. I had to drill out the hole that the switch runs thru since it is a bigger, heavier duty switch. I do like that the switch can be pulled down at any angle, which should make it last alot longer

This is great! I have a ceiling fan light that has a weird angle for the pull chain. About every 2 to 3 years it gets almost impossible to pull, and for a while I didn't really notice what was happening, but after about 10 years I realized I was replacing the pull chain switch for the 5th time. So I looked it over closely and saw the chain had worn a channel through the guide, and had caused it to stick almost every time it's pulled, and when friends who are not used to it try to turn it on or off, when it doesn't respond normally, they put too much force on it, and pull harder. So I was getting ready to order and searching the net for replacement, and found this one, and though the price seemed high, I thought, "Well, if it really works at any angle, this would be worth the price." So I ordered one. I had to drill the mounting hole bigger, but that was no problem, I'm just glad I didn't need to drill it to smaller. After installing the switch I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it pulls. It took me a few days to get used to using less power to pull it. That said, it was built well, because my power jerks did not hurt it at all.I am really pleased, it works every time. Now I plan to order a box full of them as soon as I can, so I will have some on hand.I love it.
