it does exactly what it is supposed to do. I was hesitant to get an aftermarket grip because I heard people have problems with them. I got a pretty good deal on this one so I pulled the trigger. It’s nice to be able to shoot an entire event without changing the batteries every nine minutes I probably won’t take this on travel trips, because the reason I changed to Mirlis was to save weight and size.

This battery grip came in and allowed me to work a 3+ hour photoshoot without worrying about losing time replacing a battery. I only used about half a battery over the three hours, because I turn off the camera when not in use. But knowing that I had 3 full batteries to shoot with (the grip holds 2 and the camera has 1 inside the unit) makes the shooting experience smooth. like. butta.

Typical of FUJI's high quality products. Great addition if you do long shoots, especially video.

Can run the camera with no batteries at all with this grip, which is handy. And without having a battery in the camera, the camera will heat up less when shooting video. It does add a lot of weight, and I find it doesn't auto-switch batteries. I had a time lapse going over several hours and it stopped when it drained the one battery, did not auto-switch to the other one to continue the time-lapse.Definitely handy, not sure if I'd say it was worth $400, I got it for around $250, and I'd say that it was worth it for that.

Very well designed and built, this battery grip has excellent ergonomics and provide a welcome additional power autonomy to the camera.

Me tarde un año en comprarla... estaba bastante indeciso. Pero definitivamente es magnífica. Trae un cargador externo con el que puedes recargar las 3 baterías mientras tomas fotos y video.Tiene excelentes materiales.Me parece algo cara. Con suerte la conseguí 2 mil pesos más barata en esos días de rebaja.La volvería a comprar definitivamente.

First of all the Fuji XT3 is a better engineered camera as well as the battery grip. Unlike the Canon, you leave the battery in the body of the camera and with the grip you add 2 more batteries- a must for pro video shooting - and the battery latch has a spring to keep it locked unlike the Canon which leads to fairly regular dumps of the batteries/carriage because of the poor design on the securing mechanism. I shoot all 4K 60fps video and you need the battery power for it plus it adds more gripping options of the camera and just an overall more professional look as a nice cherry on top.

Just buy it if you do not have one for your X-T3. It provides space for two additional batteries and a better grip (my opinion). As all fujifilm products it is well made and works well. It is indeed a bit expensive, but with the space for two additional batteries and an included power supply accessory for charging through the grip it is an essential piece of equipment for your X-T3.

As an amateur, I've never cared so much about the extra weight and size but the better grip and the "eternal" battery life when used with the 2 extra batteries is worth all the investment ! Not to mention how the whole setup gets more balanced when you use larger lenses as I use my bulky XF 16-55mm f2.8 R LM RW 80% of the time.Never removing this grip from the camera !

I looked at both the knock off and this model made by Fujifilm. It was a high price I paid for a better quality button feel. It has a storage space for the rubber cover on the camera but should have also included a space for the plastic cover on the grip. The recessed bar for a strap is located in an odd place as a strap would interfere with the buttons on the grip if a strap is used. The knock off grip comes with a camera remote. Fujifilm should included a similar bonus or batteries at this price point.

I rented this for a recent trip to Barcelona & ended up buying it as soon as I got back. Makes a big difference, especially for shooting video. Feels really comfortable in the hand & with all day use I only have to change out batteries once so it was great to not have to always be thinking about battery life. Its a little pricey, but if its an everyday use camera like it is for me, worth it.

The main reason I bought this was to make the X-T3 big enough for me to actually shoot with comfortably. I love Fujifilm cameras but shooting with such small cameras is difficult because of the size of my hands, especially in portrait orientation. Adding the VG-XT3 made the X-T3 the perfect sized camera for me. Other than that, VG-XT3 does exactly what it was made to do. I just wish it wasn’t so expensive.
