If your headlights are not working on your c10 pickup this is probably the cause. The headlight switch on the dash almost never goes bad. This switch does due to dirt and corrosion. Good quality and perfect fit.

I have a 2003 Dodge Van. Even though I replaced the headlights, they are not bright enough for the back country roads I drive to get home. Wanted to add additional headlights. As it would have been difficult to both install and use a switch on my dash, I went for this floor switch. It comes with no directions. On the back there are three connectors. The top is Power in. The other two are power out (pressing the switch changes the output between the two connections near the bottom). This arrangement requires a second switch to turn the headlights on and off. I wired the switch differently to avoid that. The headlights I purchased have dim and bright settings, however, in California, additional headlights may not be on unless the vehicle headlights are on bright. So, on the new lights I connected both the low and hi beams together, so they both came on at once. On the floor switch, I used one of the lower connections for power in, and the top connection for power out (and connected that to the new lights). In this mode, the switch also turns off the power to the lights so I didn't need another switch (the other lower connection is not connected to anything). One problem: the connector snapped on fine, but one fin broke off when I tried to remove it--consider the plug in single use only. The difference is literally the difference between night and day!

I bought this to fix the high beam controls on my 1990 Jeep Wrangler YJ. Crimped on an extension wire, crimped on blade fittings to those wires, and plugged it straight into the connector on the steering column. Very simple to install, tested it by plugging it directly into the socket (mentioned above) to test it, it was a direct fit, operated correctly, so I installed it on the floor. I grew up with a floor switch, so it's not weird for me. My wife was wondering what it was, but thankful I'm not blinding people at night now.
